Today I learned that some people don’t keep their insurance and registration in the glove box. I thought every single person on planet Earth did that lol.

Most of my cars don't have gloveboxes. Checkmate.

That's super weird. Registration should stay in the car. It's required to produce during a traffic stop, and if someone borrows your car they may be in a pickle if they can't find it.

The registration should stay in the car, along with your proof of insurance which also has your address on it.

Both cards are in wallet for myself and others in my household. I don't plan on loaning out my cars to folks that are inclined to being pulled over!

I'm all for it. It takes a lot of systems and resources to manage, print, distribute, maintain, display, inspect, etc. all these physical things that are barely useful anymore.

Plenty of police departments have public policies now saying they won't initiate traffic stops for minor things like registration tags just for the costs. If they aren't enforcing anything using the physical stuff, why keep the systems in place to maintain them.

Lots of stuff that shouldn’t need to get fixed in a production vehicle and should have been sorted out prior to release.

Why don’t you just use the old school clicker attached to your visor? Mine are in the vehicles without Homelink in them. They only cost about $40 if you need an extra one because you have already used the remote that came with the garage door opener.

For the same reason I don't wear tortoiseshell horn-rimmed glasses. Or bell bottom jeans? Or say, far out man.

They could just add it to one's digital license on the phone I suppose. Do they require a front license plate at all?

Update rolling out now, just started my install.

Had an issue earlier this week where the R2 was showing "Unknown System Version". Was showing the correct version in the app though. Tried a soft reset and that didn't work. So just drove to work today and on the way home it prompted me to update to the new version. First big update for me since this is my first Rivian. It fixed the "Unknown System Version bug after I updated so that was nice. It didn't take the 40 minutes was about 15 to 20 minutes it seemed. Didn't show that it was updating on the phone or the display just had to wait for it to show in the app that it had updated.

Gear guard is nice. Ordered the Sandisk Extreme Pro 1 TB for it which will be here on Friday. Garage paired up nicely and works every time as opposed to the our Cadillac Lyriq which doesn't always work.

Do need to figure out a way to secure the ssd in the glovebox without trying to mess up the felt like material.

Depending on if the drive you ordered has any bits that are rubberized, that should holt it in place on the felt-like surface (in my experience with similar materials, anyway).

We did our R2 test drive today and when I told my wife that the volume was being adjusted lower in the next update she simply said "Good - it's way too loud".
