New and rare earns a premium. Has always been true. I had a Fiat 500 Prima. When I traded it in to a dealer they gave me $1000 more than I paid for it new.

According to the dealership's YouTube video on it... seems like an employee or owner took it home and tested it out. Probably was designed to be a flip.

I appreciate one is at a dealer now - they take good photos so we can actually see up close how these look (sorry Rivian but the marketing photos on Rivian.com suck)

5k won't even cover the taxes in most states.

I can list for $100k, doesn't mean it will sell for that price.

These’s a lot of pejorative comments about “flippers,” but I think it’s just capitalism. Between taxes, cost of money, advertising, etc., I think it will be hard to make much money on this. But who knows what someone will pay? I remember people paying $25k for the Mazda Miata when first introduced with list prices at lest $5 k below that.

Will probably get it. Supply and demand. Hummer EVs were fetching a huge premium for a while when they first came out.

Not all capitalism is worthy of praise. Flippers, like ticket scalpers, add nothing of value. They earn whatever pejoratives that are hurled their way. They are not as bad as price gouges after a natural disaster, but only barely.
