I've bought four R1Ts, first day res, live 45 minutes from Normal and haven't gotten anything except marketing emails.

If only there was a way for Rivian to... I don't know, I'm just spitballing here, ACTUALLY ASK PEOPLE THAT QUESTION.

The amount of data Rivian collected from reservation holders is incomprehensibly negligent, and if their conversion rates turn out to be shit, it's going to be their own fault.

They ask this exact question on the reservation page. Now they don’t seem to be doing anything with the data, the fact one has a first minute reservation, or the fact that one may own two R1’s <insert Seinfeld holding a reservation bit>

Day 1, early in the day reservation, current R1T owner, live within 30 minutes of 2 different service centers....and only good/friendly interactions at the 1 SC I've been to....and no email invite.

That said, my Quad R1T is easily the best vehicle I've owned and I likely won't part with it until there is a tri-motor variant of the R2 available.....or I'll just keep the R1T and skip R2 as I wait to add an R3X....

Lol....I'm on a first name basis with several of them. Always give perfect ratings regardless of how I really feel. I know how that game is played.

Seems like some are a little frustrated because they haven't had an invite yet. So maybe worth considering a swag on supply versus demand to put that into perspective?

So first off, what's the potential annual market demand for R2 in the US? Rav4 seems to have sold ~480k units in 2025, Model Y ~360k units, so without over thinking it let's just assume 200k units per year for R2, assuming unrestricted supply.

Next how many of those sales would be Performance vs Premium or Standard. Let's run with 10%.

So unrestricted annual demand for R2 Performance using reasonably conservative estimates in the current market would be 20k units ... or approaching the total 2026 production guided by Rivian. Its probably a fairly safe assumption that pent up demand from 1H26 means that all that 20k unit swag falls in 2H26.

Is it any surprise that large numbers of "fully qualified" potential buyers, i.e. day one reservation, existing and/or prior Rivian owners, haven't been invited yet, since it seems Rivian has only produced around 2-3k R2 so far based on issued VINs, of which 50% or more are for employees.

We can play around with the assumptions and come up with more complex models, but it seems demand for R2 Performance is likely to greatly exceed supply for at least a few months, if not for the balance of the year.

I'm happy for all of those who have ordered and getting their VINs and deliveries scheduled, etc etc....

But misery loves company and I'm starting to feel pretty lonely...
I understand the folks with R1s getting to order already, but there seem to be quite a few non-owners as well.... I had an early day one reservation like most others, so I don't know what the other considerations are that we aren't seeing.

So I'm creating this thread for those of us who feel like the sad puppy out in the rain.... where we can commiserate as being a part of the "unchosen" masses.
For those who say "you're just whining..", you're damn right I'm whining, and I'd like to hear from others who feel the same way.

Day 1, 12:32 CST Gen 1 R1T owner 25 minutes from service center. Have NOT heard anything on my reservation. Got to do a short unofficial R2 test drive on the 9th. I happened to be near the service center and they had a gap in the test drive reservation and they let my wife and I drive it. Love how smooth it rode. Would love to get a date so I know when to sell my bronco. With people getting dates who have just put in reservations it makes you wonder why bother doing it earlier?

I'm a first day reservation holder, but not a present Rivian owner (our son works there, but that doesn't seem to help ). No word/invite yet, but I'm not surprised.

I am an R1S owner and had a day 1 reservation but no invite. I'm not planning on ordering anyway. I don't need another vehicle and my R1S is perfect for me now.

Hoping you get yours soon. I have a late reservation so I get why I haven't received an order opportunity yet. I do plan to purchase the LE immediately so hopefully that helps.

And yes, your selected preferences make a difference. Mine likely impacting my dates are the exterior and interior colors. That’s nice customer service IMHO!!

Yes, your preferences and/or location might make a difference. I see you did your reservation on day 3. I did mine this year and I received the same timeline between September and October 2026.
