Has anyone touched on audio setup and quality?

Here is a video of the emergency door releases. Ugh. This is a deal breaker.

The front ones do not seem difficult. Like, at all.

And the rear ones are much more simplified than the Gen2 R1's.

While I would prefer that it's just one standard handle (like in my Gen1 R1T), what is up front really isn't that complicated.

Oddly none of the reviews I saw mentioned audio quality. One showed screen layout and responsiveness but nothing about audio.

Several Internet articles say the back door handles will look like the front in the actual production version.

Yeah I’m very curious if they’ve learned their lesson or not

If this is the case, then that's good news.

Even if it is passed it would probably not go into effect until the 2027 or 2028 model year. They would need to give the industry to redesign and setup tooling for the change.
Yeah, I also forgot that this was a final validation vehicle. No time for (much) change.

It's the rear ones that are a deal breaker. That is too difficult for younger kids to figure out in an emergency, especially if I were unconscious in the front seat. Simply not worth the risk. Plenty of other cars to choose from with mechanical door handles.

FWIW, all mechanical door handles in the rear seat of every vehicle have child safety locks that prevent you from opening them from the inside no matter what. It is a safety feature unless you turn it off.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
Demuro mentioned the official Rivian mattress for the R2 and quoted the 95th percentile male lying down in the back thing. Why can’t anyone just give us the actual dimensions! I looked up the 95th percentile male thing and it’s typically around 6’2” (188 cm) tall. Gives me 2” of extra space. 🫤

I know the front seats don’t fold forward anymore, but I wonder if you can scoot them up all the way and get a few more inches. You’d have to stuff the empty space with pillows or something, but that could work.
