Am in the process of trading in my much-loved 2023 R1T Quad for a 2026 R1S dual with performance package, and am being told that sadly the extra set of 2023 Rivian OEM 20" wheels (with Nokian snow tires) will NOT on the 2026 R1S???

Very disappointing as I'll have to get new Rivian 20" OEM wheels and get my Nokian tires transferred.

Does anybody know more about this insanity?

Much thanks!

That doesn't sound right. Who told you this?

Its not true, as long as the size is the same (or very close) you are good to go.

https://tiresize.com/comparison/

The 20's from my gen1 quad fit my gent 2 DM that came with 22's because the overall diameter was almost identical.

The regular "staple" 20 inch wheels? They definitely fit. I have a pair of mine on my 2025 R1S right now for winter.

Thanks, i'm not going to take the word of my otherwise very nice Rivian "guide" without having my usual tire guys take a look and try it.

I know of one wheel that doesn't/didn't fit, and it's not the OEM ones.

Bogus. Same bolt pattern. Same offset. Same clearance to brakes. Only thing that doesn't fit, from T to S, is the full size spare.
The front brake caliper is different between Gen1 and Gen2. At least for a dual motor. Which is why Thuren doesn't sell their wheels for Gen2. That being said, that hasn't been a problem for any other wheel that I have heard of, and I have my Gen1 OEM wheel on my Gen2 Dual Motor right now.

Why couldn’t your Rivian guide explain to you exactly why the wheels and tires wouldn’t fit so you’re not playing guessing games and having to ask strangers on this message board? A rhetorical question.

Probably because they have laid off any well paid/knowledgeable ones and their internal notes say something like "this wheel is for 2022-2024 MY" and then the same wheel in another spot says "2025-2026 MY."
