I think the way Tesla handles it makes sense in it will immediately disable the hold once you shift out of park, or your battery drops below 20%, so there is no way to leave it running.

With Rivian’s implementation if I’m running into a store I have to now think about how long I might be and select a time. If I happen to be in there longer I now have to remember my time expired and open the app to turn it back on.

I’ll most likely continue to use Pet Mode in this case so I don’t have to worry about it.
I wouldn’t want my battery to be allowed to run that low.

Additional Improvements
  • Fixed a rare issue that caused the alarm to sound when passive entry was used to open the liftgate.
By God, this better include the same fix for the Gear Tunnel. I've walked up before PaaK unlocks the truck, and then I hit the Gear Tunnel button and it opens, and that triggers the alarm. Been in for service twice for it and they finally see in the logs that it happens, so I hope this fixes that. Wasn't an issue a few software releases ago. It means that either the phone is found and lets you in before disabling the alarm, or it's letting me into the Gear Tunnel without validating my key.

We're so close to having GREAT, GREAT software. This is a great update that seems to squash a lot of bugs.

My only other complaint... FIX ROOMY ENTRY AND EXIT. When at home, I have proximity lock/unlock disabled, as well as Gear Guard, because I park in my garage. I disable those because if I don't, my truck is waking up constantly as I go anywhere near my garage while inside my house. When I go to my truck every single morning, Roomy Entry and Exit doesn't work. Been in for service multiple times. Usually, proximity key wakes the truck enough to load driver profiles. But when you use the configuration I've mentioned, the waking happens only after you open the door, and it fails to get those setting loaded at all... I can even drive to work and park, and when I go to exit, the exit setting still isn't loaded. When this happens, I can get completely back out of the truck, close the door and wait a few seconds, then get back in, and all works as it should...

Again, we're SO CLOSE to really really good software. I love my truck and I believe in this company. I'm glad these forums are perused by Rivian for feedback and I hope this is seen.

The roomy exit/entry issues are frustrating. I thought I’d share what I do. I’m an early Gen 1 owner of a ‘23 R1S. What I’ve done for quite a while now is disable Bluetooth for the Rivian app only when at home. I have location set to ‘while using’. Before I exit the house, I launch the app and click at the top to enable Bluetooth via the permissions. When I walk out to enter the vehicle the door unlocks every time. While out and about, I leave the app running and Bluetooth enabled of course and the doors lock and unlock without a problem. Proximity is on all the time. The key is disabling Bluetooth when I arrive home so I don’t have the unlocking problem when close to the vehicle while inside the house. I don’t need to close the app but I do anyway. I know this is not a fix but a workaround. I haven’t tested any other approaches since the many updates to address proximity since this works well for me.

I have connect+ and I am waiting on it as well. I normally received the update's in the first 24 hours. I wonder if my critical feedback(I give positive feedback as well) on twitter with Wassym has me on a list lol

In the same boat. I have Connect+, too.

2025.34.30 came out in what? Beginning of September? Never updated to my Gen2R1T. Turned out that the LH mirror (recall repair) had thrown an error and that had to be cleared before the update could happen. I had the recall repair done a few weeks ago, and the update downloaded notification was waiting for me when I picked up the truck. Given the length of time from when this next update has been announced and that the update has yet to show up has me thinking that the R1T has another error.

I wish there was a way to check for errors. I have an old OBD reader, but it is only for ICE vehicles.

I'm seeing the same issues with Ionna and EA not displaying on the map in the R1.

Tried a re-boot and thought sure that would sort it, but no joy.

Maybe a map update is going to be required as well? It's particularly amusing the you can search for and navigate to "Ionna Charging Station" in (pick your location) but it doesn't recognize the site as a charger so no route planning or availability info available.

maybe they paused the rollout due to these issues?

It will definitely route to/through an Ionna station if it makes sense. I plotted a route from Denver to St. Louis and got it to pick up at least one of the Ionna stations in Kansas.

I suspect it's more that it's flapping whether or not the alarm should be active. Like, it's off when you request the door to open but turns back on before you pull the door the rest of the way open.

Agreed, but it was doing that prior to this update. What's not working is it including the Ionna station in the route planning so that it tells you how much to charge to and how many chargers are available. EA availability is also not working. I'm sure they'll get it sorted out, but bummer that it's not functioning as advertised.

BTW, we recently actually made that trip from Denver to St. Louis on I-70 and charged at Ionna almost exclusively. Goodland, Wakeeney, Abilene and Blue Springs. Stopped and took a look at the new station going in at Limon as well. All very nice sites with awnings, trash cans, squeegees and nice shiny new Alpitronic chargers that worked flawlessly.

Anyone successfully done plug & charge at Ionna and/or EA yet?

I would agree if the doors themselves ever unlocked, but they don't whenever this happens.

What gives? I still haven’t received the update. I’m a new R1S Gen2 owner AND signed up for Connect+ BEFORE my free trial ends next month. While not a big Halloween fan, I want my spooky lights🤣

I think the rollout might have been paused. We have been at 760 vehicles at https://rivianroamer.com/software-updates for around 12 hours.
Rivianroamer takes into account those who registered with that website/service. There are >100,000 Rivians on the road today, so I'm sure many are getting updates not reflected on the website. So far for what is effectively Day 2.5 of the rollout, >20% is very good.
