So it was basically like an experiment and they didn’t plan on upgrading parts in further

Sounds like that's why the trade in values of the Gen 1's are so low, even with Rivian. Love to have a Gen 2, but the value of a 3 year old R1T with less than 30k miles seems ridiculously low.

My 3.5 year old Polestar 2 that MSRPed for almost 70k only got 26k when I traded it in with less than 20k miles. Rivian's trade-ins aren't quite that bad.

I agree. We have a gen 1 dual T and a gen 2 tri S and I’d take the gen 1 T every day over the gen 2 S.
