GM also expected to get 350+ EPA rated range on the Hummer and then announced a range of significantly less and didn't even get it EPA tested so I'd take that 400 estimate with a grain of salt.
Hummer EV was never going to be EPA tested. It doesn't have to because of weight class.

The fully loaded triple motor Hummer with 37" all terrain tires gets 329. The base 200 kWh with 35" tires and less equipment will almost certainly do 350 miles in an EPA test.

The base Silverado EV with the 200 kWh pack and all season street tires will almost certainly do 400 EPA miles.

Ding ding ding! I have a feeling a lot rides on which tire/rim you choose. We’ll soon see

I still think the Rivian will win overall. Better packaging and efficiency out of the batteries. I like the overall functionality of the Rivian and their use of the space. Sure, it's smaller than the F150, but the bed barely has the wheel well humps and the tailgate down allows you to lay full sheets of plywood/sheetrock with a 1-ft overhang. I'm liking this over what Toyota might offer in the future with a Tacoma EV.

Isn't the Mach E standard battery 98 kwh as well? I think it is rated for 211 hwy miles and the Mach E is much more aerodynamic than the Lightning will be. 150 on the highway in the cold might be optimistic
No. The battery on the 2021 ext range Mach E was 88 kwh, and it has an EPA rating of just over 300 miles.

To many people's surprise, the Mach E was also insanely heavy. There won't be near as much difference between the weight of the Mach E and Lightning as some people think, so the efficiencies might not be much different.

Also surprising to most people, the R1T is substantially heavier than the lightning based on early reports. Considering the Lightning has less ground clearance and more road friendly driving setup as opposed to the off roading design of the R1T, it's actually pretty easy to see how Ford could get at least a 300 mile EPA range.

Ford's website claims 91 Kwh battery and 277 mile range for AWD which is what should be compared to the Lightning and Rivian.

Yeah... You are looking at the 2022. I gave you the numbers for the Mach E many of us are currently driving.

If you really want to split hairs about which Mach E to compare to the Lightning and Mach E... I would say none of the Mach Es are comparable. They are completely different types of vehicles.

Either way, the Mach E is a roughly 5000 lb vehicle with 88 kwh usable battery (next year's model will gain a whopping 3 kwh), and has a range of about 270 for awd (a bit more range for next year's model).

The Lightning will weigh about 6500 lb according to reports, have a 131 kwh battery, and claimed.to get at least 300 mile range.

I don't know why it surprises people to see the Lightning is advertised with a 300 mile range given the fact it is lower to the ground by quite a bit than the R1T, has an aluminum body like all other recent F150s, and is about 600 lbs lighter than the R1T. Sure, the Lightning has a bigger footprint, but that's only one part of the equation.

I'm a little dubious the f150 will be significantly lighter than the R1T, but 500lns is always a possibility. This fall under the unconfirmed category.

People are confused because the F150 has a larger cross sectional area than the Rivian. It's taller and a few inches wider, and has lesome ground clearance. So there is more frontal area to cause shove through the wind. It's also adopting an ICE body that doesn't seem to be quite as aero as the Rivian. For the most part weight is less critical to range on an EV particularly at speed. Which leads me to one possibility in thst the F150 may be comparatively more efficient in the city and less on the highway, resulting in a similar average range.

Or, it could just be that having 4 motors sort of sucks for efficiency compared to two.
