Exactly. The VP was a scapegoat and I hope they got a nice package on the way out.
Always good to have a VP handy for occasions like these. Seriously though I want Tesla to do well just like I want all American companies to do well. I actually invested in Tesla in the early days. I agree that Elon has his fair share of blame for the decline but it's also a lot to do with BYD doing so well. On a fundamental level, the product is being challenged in a way that it never has. I wish Tesla well.

I wish Tesla well, too, which is why I wish EM would step away from the company and focus on his other priorities. I suspect he would never accept that Tesla could do better without him than with him.

Agree but not sure he will. He's a brilliantly flawed man. Im not a fan but cant deny what he has achieved. I'm not sure if I had that level of success that I would be able to let go.

With all due respect, cannot disagree more on this statement.

Tesla would disappear without Elon. It will just be another EV maker and slowly fail.

The only real brain drain at Tesla is if Elon was to leave. He is making the hires and appointments of key people. There are lots of talented people out there and one of the ways to change direction of the company is to change the people responsible for certain aspects of the business, including Elon himself. That day may come one day, but that day is not now or anytime soon.

I really could not care less of what his politics are. He is not running for an office and his money and influence are a double edge sward as we've seen. I am very interested that Elon sticks around and runs Tesla.

Just as iPhone lost market share as others made smartphones, Tesla has too. That said, Tesla sales still significant compared to all other EV makers, except BYD. While others enjoy double and triple digit growth percentage, its still in 4 to 5 figures in terms of actual units delivered while Tesla sales are in 6 figures for vehicle and additional power storage business growing at a rapid pace.

I think your opinions are based on what he did for Tesla and how he acted as the leader of Tesla. Mine are based on what he’s doing to Tesla currently and how he’s behaving as the leader of Tesla. I’m not talking about politics at all. When I mentioned his other priorities I was thinking of SpaceX/StarLink and Mars colonization. These seem to be his passions to me.

I don't need to ride in it to see that visually it is very much the same car. I've seen pictures of both the interior, that still looks cheap, and the exterior which hasn't notably changed.
It’s all about the ride quality and noise my man. It’s pretty great. Cheap you say? Have you pressed a Gen 2 Rivian’s window switch? Lol. The base model Pacifica blows that out of the water in terms of quality lol

I disagree. I own both brands and Tesla UI has moved away from the original cohesive layout circa 2018 to bloat ware. Much prefer my Rivian.
Tried that absurdity, stupidity called Rivian MFA?
Vs. Tesla's simple, easy, nothing-else-needed-anytime PIN to drive?
I'll tell you what, if Tesla is bloatware,I want more and more of it!!

The situation is different only in that it’s EM and your hard-and-fast rule suddenly doesn’t apply.

It’s absolutely related when someone responsible for sales is being judged based on Elon’s actions.
Well, it's what life taught me in corporate America: your job colleagues, your company is not your family, and the ciompany can lay your behind off anytime, and replace you with someone just as good or better. Or with nobody at all. The collective staff is instrumental to the success of a company, but what is true of the whole never will be true of the part.
We all are expendable, employment 101.
It matters not to a company if the corp vp of software quit. Company will find a replacement before too long. That's what I mean.

Much to the chagrin of Tesla haters, Tesla eventually will get better and do better still.

I have a Gen 2 tri Ascend, and the interior stands up to the Range Rover I was looking at as a comparison. Nothing in there feels very cheap, but the Ascend switches have a premium feel to them. Also my tri is quieter than my wife's '24 BMW.

I absolutely don’t hate Tesla but I don’t think EM has been doing Tesla any favors recently. I expect that Tesla will get better and do better right after EM ratchets down his involvement. Then Tesla can behave like a business rather than his hobby to make what he wants regardless of customer desires. I think his shiny ideas of the moment like Falcon wing doors, no instrumentation in front of the driver in the 3 and Y, steering yoke, CyberTruck design, elimination of control stalks are all keeping Tesla from selling more vehicles.

Did you check the Range Rover EV?
Thoughts you can share?
I do like my R1S Gen 1 a helluva lot. A keeper. Have been curious about the Range Rover EV lately, though.

Just the regular Range Rover, the EV isn't out yet to my knowledge. Also, the RR EV is expected to start at 180K so it's in quite a different price category than the R1S.
