So many experts on this site just can't stay out of the fray. Comments are just political hate which really doesn't belong here.
Why is calling Tesla a failure and pointing out Elon's shortcomings as CEO political? I don't see anyone else even mentioning politics besides you.

Because Tesla isn't a failure and everyone with a brain knows the intent of the post. Save it for bluesky.

I’m OP. i know the intent of the post, not you. The intent of the post was to provide news about a Rivian competitor. If you look back on my history, you’ll see that I frequently post all sorts of online articles about all sorts of topics for discussion and debate. I’ve posted about Rivian and other automotive execs coming and going as well. It’s not politically motivated. Save it for Truth Social or Occupy Democrats if politics is what you want to rant about.

I'd say the CT is a pretty big sales failure, and it was destined to be. I'd say that not updating your vehicles to remain competitive was a pretty big failure too. Look at Tesla's sales over the past couple years, they are going DOWN while EVERY OTHER MANUFACTURER who makes EVs is seeing a sales increase. That looks like failure to me. Maybe your brain isn't working as well as you thought, or you know dick about business.

Why don’t you please tell us what was in the mind of the thread starter, since you obviously have clairvoyant abilities? I‘m sorry you are personally offended by criticism of a corporation or its CEO, but that doesn’t make it “political”. Save it for Xitter…

A Rivian forum might be the worst place to talk about poor EV truck sales 😃

Why? Rivian's sales are on an upward trend, and Tesla's are on a downward trend. Obviously, they are on two different sales scales, but they are also on different trajectories.

I guess we'll see. I'll keep buying and you keep selling.

Tesla had such a lead over everyone else in the EV space and they wasted the entire thing with their barely perceptible refreshes and betting big on their FSD system that is proving to be nowhere near the promised capability. Now they are trying to pivot to AI, but so is everyone else and they aren't doing anything to differentiate themselves there either.

Instead of spending his time bullshitting, Elon would have been better served worrying about making better cars. That's why there's a sales decline. Actual competition entered the market and all those cars are better. When Chevy has better interiors and appearance than you do, you have to know you're screwed.

Hopefully a lot of departing talent finds its way to Rivian. RJ offers all that innovation culture without the dose of meglomaniac insanity.

I don't need to ride in it to see that visually it is very much the same car. I've seen pictures of both the interior, that still looks cheap, and the exterior which hasn't notably changed.

Big companies are resilient, depend on no one person only. Main lesson learned in corporate America: everybody is expendable, replaceable. No exceptions.

The gist of this departure news: big whoop. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Next!

So Rivians can learn how to drive through Wile-e-coyote walls without slowing down?
