21inch wheel Road tire recommendation.

Hi. Time for new road tires for my 21 wheels. What road tires are good replacements for my R1T.

Just put a set on my R1T, over $100 less per tire than the other choice OEM Pirelli and a better tire.

I believe that there are only 2 choices for replacement 21" tires. OEM Pirelli or the above linked Michelin. I'd go with the Michelin tires myself.

I think OP wants tire options. And from what I've read there's only the two options Eeyore mentioned. I have the 21's as well and regret not getting the 20's. I'm leasing our R1S so doubt I'd swap wheels/tires.

I've been tire shopping. I have both 20" and 22" wheels. On discount tire there are 86 or so choices for the 20". The 22" has 24 choices. The 21" just the 2 we've discussed.

I need to replace the tires on the 22" rims, so either I have to swap them with the 20" rims that have the noisy OEM Pirelli AT tires, or I have to buy new tires for the 22" rims.

Not to spend your money, but by having 20" and 22" wheels, you could perform an important(?) experiment:

Test mileage/range with 20" road tires against mileage/range with identical 22" tires.

Besides the expense and effort involved, the trouble is there are few, if any, single tire models (with the same tread design) to my knowledge that meet Rivian Load Index requirements and come in both a 20" and 22" size.

But, I throw this idea out there in case you have unlimited money and time, and want to achieve hero status among your peers.

I would go with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 275/55R21 which will cost less than the Pirelli and have a good reputation as well.

Right now Discount Tire and Tire Rack both have rebates if you buy 4 Michelin tires.

I believe this is in reference to 21' tires as there are only 2 choices. I'd pick the Michelin tires in this case as well.
