My ideal R1T costs more than the $80,000 MSRP threshold for the $7,500 tax break. Maybe yours does too?

What are you willing to sacrifice to keep your truck in incentive territory?

If prices climb in the new year to keep up with inflation, what more will you put on the fire for free cash?

My R1S is below the “limit” so no issue. Inflation is a concern since 6% would equate to over $4000 increase in base price.

Fortunately we see that the Rivian gear store is offering nearly all the adventure accessories with free shipping so I leave all that off the table for my truck order. Still keeping the off-road upgrade, spare tire, FE interior and probably Limestone paint for $79,800 total. Anyone got a limbo stick?

Unless they can do some fancy math, I'll be giving up the Max Pack.

I’m just giving up on Rivian Blue. That puts me over $80K. Otherwise I’m getting Forest Green with the Adventure pkg, the off road pkg, AT tires, and the spare.

I've got an R1T sitting right at $79,975. I'll pick up what I left off in the store after I get the truck. Which is the camp kitchen and the tent.

I don't expect Rivian to raise the prices from where they are now for at least the 50k they have back ordered already. If they do raise prices, it'll be for any orders they receive after they announce an increase.

For a R1T I am leaning towards two options, both including 20" ATs, full size spare:
1. LA Silver+Forest Edge interior+ off road package = $79,600
2. Rivian Blue+Ocean Coast + off road package = $80,100

So either Rivian Blue or off road package if option 2. Since I am a late September 2021 order, and nothing has passed yet, I won't worry too much about it at this time. Off Road package seems like a "better buy" than the blue, since you are getting something physical other than just a color, but realistically, I doubt I would be going off road in this. And the prices may go up by the time my turn comes up it may not matter.

If I was leaning towards a R1S, I would want Blue+Ocean Coast+ 20" ATs, which would mean no off road, and would be disappointed that a donut spare would put the price over $80k.

If you can give up the Max Pack... You don't need the Max Pack. ?

I have 125 mile one way commute to work most days, the Max Pack is more important to me then the credit.

400+ miles or bust!

As of now, nothing. I’m an R1T, LA Silver, Forest Edge interior, with the standard 21” wheels (+spare) for $75,600, before crossbars, wall charger, and all weather mats.

Trying to avoid range limiting options like the AT tires and off road package really helps keep the price down.

This will be my wife's daily driver...14 miles round trip to work and back...so no, 98% of the time Large is perfect. But we also have a small camper and run up to the mountains...I've ran numbers on ABRP to many times now...the Max really only saves us 1 stop. So for $17,500, I'll go with the Large.

not changing a thing.

That said, isn't the rebate prorated over the cap, not just shut off instantly?

The BBB that passed the house is $74k for trucks and $69k for SUVs. It can obviously be changed in the senate however they want, but be aware the $80k limit was mentioned but has yet to be added.

Yep, what passed the house is $69k SUV, $74k trucks. Taking a base Launch Edition R1T and adding Forest Edge interior bumps it over that limit.

I'm *REALLY* hoping they determine that color choices don't count toward the MSRP. Because I *REALLY* want Launch Green with Forest Edge interior now. I'm even willing to give up the off-road package (sadly.) Every other thing I want is an "accessory" that won't count to the MSRP.

Rivian R1T R1S What are you sacrificing to stay below the $80,000 tax break threshold? Screen Shot 2021-11-22 at 10.22.15 PM
