Rivian Raises Target IPO Price (RIVN)

If you can pick up shares at $35 in the near future then you will never see your RIS. A $35 price would mean they were in big trouble and delivering very few if any vehicles. By the way the original investors ie Amazon and Ford cannot sell their shares for x number of months.

I made the point the other day but I think it is worth making again. For Rivian as a company and as pre-order holders the higher IPO price is fantastic. Means they bring in more capital (11bn) which means they will be able to execute on their growth plan and get a lot of vehicles into peoples driveways. So to your last point, higher IPO price is good news.

If you wanted to make money on the IPO then that is a completely different story. I'm definitely skeptical at the higher price which is why I plan on investing only $1k. If the stock falls a lot I may look at adding more.

Yes, currently you have only expressed interest and are committed to nothing. Once they finalize pricing late tomorrow, you will have to fish or cut bait (in other words, finalize the purchase of a specific number of shares or bow out of the DSP).

Yeah they're not doing any favors, besides streamlining the process for those of us who havent done an IPO before. Just because its not a great deal doesnt make it a bad deal. 8-10 months ago I'd have jumped all over this with everything I have. I still think this will be a good long term play. But it wont be a 2011 Bitcoin or TSLA...

Well, Lucid sells a few "meh" sedans and after today has a 70b market cap, so anything is possible on Wednesday.

Rivian is not setting the price, the market is. Rivian would be foolish to sell the IPO shares at a discount to what the market would pay.

Sure if they set it lower the price would surge after the IPO (and people would make a bunch of money) but then they would loose capital they could have raised.

Haunted by the sense it's wiser to take the $10k and purchase Tesla shares (7 or 8 of them, lol) and see that double inside a year rather than run with Rivian IPO on the emotional hope it does well for itself.

Typically a price increase means there is demand and you can make out like a bandit if you sell.
