toyo open country III EV tires - are they directional?

Based on the sidewall pattern they seem to be directional, but I can't find any info on if I installed them the right way? Anyone have experience with Toyo Open Country?

Google search? You can do it. Shoulder block is not where you look to determine that. It’s stylistic and designed for off road traction, bite into embankments and grab rocks. Plus directional tires usually have an arrow.

Pretend you are flipping the tire around. What do the shoulder blocks on the other side look like?

Hrm. Plot thickens. As far as I know, the tread is not directional. So… if the one above is how it should be, you’d need to move your pictured driver front to the passenger side. How are the other tires looking?

Looking at Toyo’s own press photo (on a Lightning) the blocks are oriented just like yours. I see Rivians with theirs just like yours too. But in image search online, I see examples oriented the other way. Now I am really curious…

Directional tires are clearly marked as such. If you don't see an indicator, it's not directional.

While the "chevrons" (don't know what else to call them) may have some aerodynamic benefit, for them to be direction would be meaningless. After all, as the tire rotates - with respect to vehicle motion, the ones at the top are facing one direction, the ones at the bottom are facing the other direction, nullify any effect related to that. More likely, if they really do help efficiency, is that they function as a vortex generator of some sort, to reduce drag, noise, etc. It's unlikely the direction has an impact as much as just the presence of the "chevron" itself.

After looking at tons of pictures online, I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that it doesn't matter which way those chevrons are oriented (and that they are mostly cosmetic).

Maybe it doesn't matter, but it looks (from the 360 view at Toyo) like they made them the same on both sides such that you could mount them to have the chevrons face the same direction on both sides of the vehicle.

Where's the 360 view? I don't see one. Even so, once you rotate your tires...
