The wrangler 4xe is already close to half their wrangler sales volume.
For good reason, it seems the weight from that 700lb, 17kWh/400V battery finally smoothed out the classic Wrangler buckboard ride. My 4xe drives like a regular SUV, not like a classic Jeep. I say that as someone who owned a CJ7 back in 1981 as a 20yo punk kid.
Back then, you kept your rain slicker on inside the jeep if you wanted to stay dry too! ?

Would love an R2X that competes with this. Something where you can take the doors off, and the trim and interior materials are really off road ready
R2X with removable doors would be SICK!!!

If they price this right it will be popular IMO.
I agree, but this is Jeep/Stellantis so it will be over priced. Plus they will need to overcome quality & reliability of Stellantis to sell beyond the Jeep enthusiast.

Jeep Recon = hp and torque will be sub-par, electronics buggy with features missing at launch, poor performance compared to Rivian, poor reliability in general, and a failing dealer network Operating inside a shrinking corporate entity. I’ll pass.

I highly doubt the doors are actually removable. It looks like they are just trying to mimic the appearance of the Jeep CJ/Wrangler door hinge.

Yeah, I don't really understand the whole "removable door" thing?
They are clearly tying to channel the Bronco/Land rover vibe and the folks who buy those vehicles are not the "hey, lets ditch the doors today" crowd because A/C doesn't work without doors. Seems like a gimmick intended to possibly draw in some of the Wrangler crowd?

I want removable doors! It isn't logical. It's fun.

It must be a Jeep thing, cause I sure as hell don’t understand it.
It's a Jeep thing. Jeeps have so many accessories it's hard to keep track. We have a winch system to the ceiling of garage to remove hardtop to install softops and vice versa. Or leave off in summer. And doors...have an engine stand with a plate a company makes to hold all 4 doors on the engine stand for storage.

Doors off and roof off is a really fun way to run around in summer or go off road....but if you are type that doesn't enjoy that kind of thing...which is cool....some don't....then like you said...."it's a Jeep thing".....which it most definitely is.

I get "doors off" in a Wrangler because it goes with "top off". But in a regular SUV like the Recon with a fixed windshield and non-removable top? I'd put it in the same category as the Rivian 12V Frunk lighter outlet "most owners don't use it". :giggle:
