just like with Rivian and others - “production” ≠ Deliveries in a press release.
Sorry but this is nonsensical. In this business there are two phases of production. Preproduction produces release candidates, to validate assembly process and compatibility of parts. Once that is done, series production begins. Production leads to delivery. Production start dates can postpone if preproduction milestones are not met. Rivian delayed production. But once production began, cars were delivered.

Looks like it will be more classic / utilitarian in style and design as opposed to the Rivian which is a little more techy / futuristic. I imagine it will be one price rung below the the R1T. The SUV looks like it’ll be an R2 competitor.

Their info says "full size truck" which makes me think the SUV and truck will be at least R1 size with the truck likely bigger. Perhaps Jeep Grand Wagoneer is the ultimate target ?, creating competition with another ancient nameplate.

I've always had a soft spot for the old Scouts. Excited to see what the reveal shows.

The guy was ahead of his time as one of the first CEO's who became a "celebrity", while also saving a major (at that time) American auto manufacturer. Respect!!

Silhouette is a 2005 Range Rover, but if it has a straight, vertical B pillar, angled up glass at the rear pillar (as appropriated by Lexus GX470) and some bold diagonal graphics (like WV has for their IDBuzz) it'll look "Scout" enough.

Hopefully the new Scout isn't going to be another $70K+ EV, that we don't need more of. Scout was a reasonably priced offering back in the day, more a work-a-day type vehicle, let's see if "they" remember their roots.

The cab-forward cars that supposedly "saved" the company were actually not that good. Rented a few. None liked to turn. But, compared to other "malaise era" American cars, it was normal. He was a good pitchman and knew how to work the soundbite media.

Scout has hired a lot of amazing ex Rivian employees, specifically Aileen Barraza. I'm confident its gonna look amazing!
Speaking of ex Rivian staff now at Scout, I see that Egan Schultz (former Rivian Head of UX Design - Enterprise & Fleet Software) is now a Director of UX Design at Scout. I imagine Egan convinced a handful of Rivian staff to follow him.

I know what you mean. But, they do known how to assemble cars together (as mediocre as VWs have been) with better consistency and at much greater volume better than Rivian. If you understand how auto assembly lines work, that's no small feat. They also know to engineer with better repairability baked in—the one thing not evident in the R1s, even after refresh. Plus, this effort would involve many people they have poached from Rivian and Tesla. AND, by the time it delivers to customers, it may even include input from the VW-Rivian joint venture. Far too soon to dismiss and get too comfortable with the blindfolds.
