Just received a phone call this afternoon from Rivian to schedule me for a mobile service appointment to proactively replace my 12 V battery. They said they will be reaching out to people with early/mid 2023 builds to get their 12V batteries replaced. I have a 2023 R1S built 06/23 delivered early 8/23. 13700 miles, no 12V issues yet. Appointment scheduled for 10/21. Also got my confirm preferred delivery address email for the NACS DCFS adapter last week. Thanks, Rivian! This is excellent customer service.

That’s cool. I took delivery around the same time as you and I admit it’s been in the back of my head lately. I’m at around 16k miles.

I got the same call for my R1S picked up in June 2023. I got a mobile service appojntment scheduled even though I am about 5 hours away from the nearest service center. They didn't seem to care, but I will wait and see if they follow through. And my NACS adapter is arriving on Tuesday!

3/23 build, no correspondence yet either. Is there a way that we can easily check the 12V battery health ourselves?

I’m seeing some weird activity via Electrafi on my ‘23 R1S. Usually I see 0% battery drain during sleeps with an occasional 1-2% but I’m seeing 0.41% just about each time. It recovers on the next wake/idle. No range loss during sleeps but just odd that this just started happening. I will keep monitoring it.

I was told verbally on the phone by service support that my T needs replacement of 12v. It’s added to my service appointment for 11/11

build date on my T is 3/23

I wonder if it has to do with specific parts (batteries or ??) used during the builds. It is possible to source parts from different bins during manufacturing.

What about those of us that have May 2022 deliveries are there any problems with the earlier builds?

I let my mid 2023 R1S sit for a week this past August during vacation and came home to the vehicle not starting. When 12V dies, nothing works, I mean nothing. I used a jumper pack off the hitch pop-out leads just to get the doors open. Had to have it towed 40 mins away to a Rivian service center where they replaced both 12Vbatteries. To Rivian’s credit, they had proactively reached out.

Don’t get stranded. Get the batteries replaced ASAP!!
