Test Drive Of A 2022 R1T Launch

Recently took a short test drive of a used 22 R1T Launch Edition in Dallas. I was pleased with the ride and handling of the LE. My favorite feature for me and my wife was setting up higher in the cab than my MY and Cayenne S. In the past I have owned a 2002 Tahoe and 2012 Yukon. Driving the R1T brought back memories of driving the Tahoe and Yukon.
This R1T had about 7500 miles on the odometer. The hood had PPF, but the front had a couple of rock chips and a scratch. I guess off roading would be the cause. The electric tonneau cover was not working.
It was an enjoyable experience.

There are some good delivery checklists people here have shared that might help you while checking out used Rivians.

I love mine, but it’s definitely not for everyone. They are very much still struggling with service in certain parts of the country. Only you know if those trade offs are worth it for you.

Thank you for your comments regarding inventory. Texas has passed laws protecting the legacy car dealers and making it more difficult for non brick and mortar dealers such as Rivian, Lucid, and Tesla to sell their vehicles. In the state of Texas I cannot buy a demo or used vehicle being sold by that company. Therefore, I cannot buy a Rivian demo from Rivian. I can buy a used Rivian from a legacy dealer, a used car dealer or an individual. The only Rivian I can buy from Rivian is to order a new Rivian.
Texas has some interesting laws that have negative impact, but it is a great state to live in.

I found and like your website. I was up early Saturday morning going through the inventory that you have posted. I tried to join, but there was a statement about Beta version. On X or threads you mentioned about posting their Rivian's for sale. That would be a helpful idea.

The dealer that has the R1T Launch that i test drove last week has reduced the price by $3000 late this week.

It's too bad you weren't closer.ade mine in, I'm going to tr and it would be a good price for someone to buy it. My tonneau is the OG and still works.

Rock chips are a part of wear & tear and happen to all of them. Don't worry about that tonneau cover as they are known issue...heck, I'd be more surprised if the thing was working!

These things are great vehicles. I have 19k miles on mine in about 15 months and Loving every mile...

On my comment about Texas law. If a demo or a used Rivian is in Texas it can be purchased by a Texas resident.
