My Gen1 R1T Adventure Quad config will be delayed from OTA update 2024.27

Spoke to a knowledgeable service rep at the San Diego service center and he doesn’t know for certain but he suspects it has to do with the new “spacial audio” support on the Meridian sound configs.

Mine indeed has that config.

Those who got “the call” do you also have the Meridian and those who didn’t don’t have it??

Feb 2023 build with Meridian and I got the update. Can't say I'm thrilled with the new sound though...way too bass-heavy and muddier than it was before.

Feb 2023 build with Meridian and I got the update. Can't say I'm thrilled with the new sound though...way too bass-heavy and muddier than it was before.

Reset infotainment, hold outermost steering wheel buttons. The sound is significantly improved and if you are not hearing that, I am thinking a reset will fix you.

Whoops all turns out I DO NOT have the Meridian system but instead the in-house Rivian system. I think my confusion was my reservation had listed Meridian but the delivered and agreed-to VIN was the new config.

So based on this and the responses from those WITH Meridian who all got the update, maybe the issue is the Rivian system.

Anyone with the Rivian system get the update?

I received the update on this past Saturday so looks like they may have figured out their compatibility issue.

Still waiting for OTA updates -- I emailed support earlier in the week asking about it since it had been a month from the original call; but they said there is no update and that service will reach out once the issue is resolved.

Seems like my VIN was finally unblocked today -- I received 2024.27.01, then about 1-2 hours later 2024.35.0

I make a point of doing a soft reset after each OTA, to clear cache and reduce chance of software glitch. As for audio, it's spatial audio. Spotify does not support it. Apple Music and Tidal both support it. However, there is a caveat. Not every single track has it. And, the ones that do, not everyone is implemented masterfully. This new feature isn't specific to Meridian systems. The in-house system that replaced Meridian is included (which is also the "Premium" system in gen 2).

If your audio is muddy, muffled or hollow... in addition to performing soft reset, check these:

1. Your EQ (there are threads on recommendations based on instrumented analysis),
2. Quality setting of your streaming platform/app
3. Turn off Surround Sound (you don't need to have it on for spatial audio in Apple Music to work, it's automtic). Virtual surround is inherently hollow; not accurate/faithful reproduction of recording.

I was one of the special trucks (July 2023 QM with Merdian / 24XXX Vin) that had the delayed 27.01 update. I eventually got it, and the 35.01 shortly thereafter. Funny thing is that the music EQ screen is now Elevation! No longer says Meridian and I lost the soundstage slider. Anyone else experience this?

It is not dispositive, but the one speaker I inspected had Meridian badging.

Yes that seems likely. Might also explain why I've never been able to dial in EQ settings to my liking.
