So I tried at 2 super charging Tesla stations w my a2z typhoon charger and was unsuccessful.
I had it in locked position.
Both times I would get an error message and then the station would go out of order. Very stressed because there are not many other options near our vacation spot. Any suggestions or has any one experienced this?

And no difficulty inserting the charger into the adapter before plugging into your vehicle?

Others already said it but;
1. Follow the instructions that came with your adapter
2. Know that not all Tesla Suoercharger locations allow charging other EVs (regardless of adapter). You must identify which locations are available to you via ABRP, your vehicle navigation or the Tesla app. This is not new or secret information

After being initially ‘sticky’ to get the NACS plug inserted far enough to fully slide the lock all the way over, mine has worked fine across at least a dozen different Superchargers dozens of times. Best of luck! I’m on vacation right now, made much more reliable/feasible by having the adapter.

Couple of things to note:

1) The locking latch on the bottom (sounds like you had it in the locked position). If you don't have it in the locked position it will not charge.
2) Make sure the location is open to NACS. You can use the Rivian NAV (make sure to remove the filter for "adapter required"). NACS superchargers will have a blue label in the Rivian NAV that says "adapter needed".
Alternately:

3) Lastly, you need to have a valid CC in the Rivian app for charging OR you can initiate a charging session via the Tesla app (see video below).

1. Yes was locked
2. Removed that filter. Since I have the adapter
3. Put in 2 different payment cards. And had a Tesla before so I know it works.

One of the locations has the destination charger. Like the regular one I have at my house. Will be slower, but can use that adapter, as a last resort.

Thank you!!
I will keep trying
it also would pop up no vehicle detected as an error message.

Thank you so much for the links. Yep. The ones I went to are on there. But I also see some self service destination chargers I can use.

Do you have an adapter for destination chargers? You cannot use the same adapter that you use at the supercharger.
