Looking at every charger map I know of and it’s a total wasteland. I plan taking my annual fly fishing trip on the San Juan and I don’t think I’m going to be able to take my Rivian. I could get there (maybe) but not back. Nearest charging seems to be Gallup?! Unless I want to make a HUGE detour to Durango.

There's a 50 KW charger at the New Mexico Workforce Connection Center. But I've never used it, and Plugshare comments seem to be hit and miss.

I've personally had great luck at car dealers which sell EV's as they keep them in good order....BUT these might be unavailable when the dealership isn't open, potentially behind a locked gate/fence.

There is nothing reliable in the Farmington area except a Tesla Supercharger at the Marriot. Note that this is a version 2 installation and will never be available to anything but Teslas. There is one charger at the Buick dealership but when I have checked it has not been working. I would not count on a location with only one charger especially when there are no backup places to charge. The Workforce Connection does not appear to be open to the public yet. There is nothing between Farmington and Albuquerque. Nothing to the south until Gallup. Nothing to the west until Bluff, Utah (Chargepoint). To the north there is a Chargepoint at the transit center in Durango and I have routed through there even though it is out of the way.

The Navajo Reservation (to the west and south) and Jicarilla Apache reservation (to the east) are devoid of DC fast chargers. What was suggested to me is options such as camping in Monument Valley and using their 240 volt connection for RVs to charge overnight. There is Moore's RV Park and Campground in Bloomfield that has plenty of hookups. You can probably camp and charge overnight for the same price as charging at a DC fast charger. If you are fishing in the area this works but it is not an option if you are not staying overnight in the area.

this exactly what I was thinking. Pay for an rv sight and charge as much as I need and go. Thanks for your response.

Open to the public? ?
Appears to be. I can't offer whether or not it would work for you though, as I've never been in the area. It does look like people have had to manually enter the station code of "abbgm1307" in the ev connect app.
