I couldn't get anyone to return a call for almost two weeks, finally got someone on chat to have sales reach out but could never actually get in touch with the guy, not even booking a slot on his calendar (there was never one to book).

Within minutes of putting a deposit on a 2023 last Friday afternoon, I had a flood of phone calls and emails, delivery scheduled next business day, hadn't even completed my purchase tasks.

It's really too bad, seems like they weren't prepared for the amount of traffic the deals generated in May, so some of us fell through the cracks. At least that is what I'm telling myself, really hoping it is a one off and I don't experience the same with the R2. It's been a frustrating experience.
Have you asked about the discount now that you’ve been able to talk to someone? This is the second purchase/lease I’ve been involved with in the last couple months, and to be honest, the Sales team seems like a mess. The sales guide I have now seems much better than the one I had in March while buying a demo R1T. It’s just so hard to get ahold of a sales guide in the first place unless you’re willing to blindly make a deposit without talking to anyone (and even then, it sounds like some people wait a while after that).

I suppose I understand focusing limited sales-team resources (if that’s the case—and it really shouldn’t be, given how vital sales are for them right now) on serious buyers and guess I can sort of understand that only talking to people who put down $1k might filter out tire kickers or time wasters, but I think they also push away potential buyers by being so difficult to talk to. I think their sales team still operates as if they are demand heavy/supply short, but need to pivot to the reality, which is that they have expensive inventory they need to move at time of high interest rates and a shrinking buyer base (or so it seems—people who can afford a Rivian and want one, may well already have one at this point). There shouldn’t be so much friction in the initial inquiry/pairing with a vehicle/price negotiation phase of these transactions.

On my demo purchase, the first three weeks were a disorganized mess where I had to end up making 3 deposits (two cancelled due to “back end” mistakes). The sales guide insisted on calling me right at my toddler’s bed time (8pm), no matter how many times I requested he call before or after that, ideally working hours EST ? There was a lot of hurrying up and then waiting for days of radio silence. But once I got handed over to the delivery guide and Chelsea, MA delivery team, communication significantly improved, and it felt like light at the end of the tunnel.

Agree that once i was in contact with the guide in chelsea for our recent perf dual max f&f discount lease the communication was much better. I barely heard from my guide and only right before my delivery was supposed to happen because my lease details were not updated yet so i didn't want to sign any contracts until they were updated with the f&f and subsequent free perf upgrade of the dual motor.

On another note, if you are looking to get another R1T for the company @onesoil I will have my 2022 quad large for sale soon here in Jericho VT. Just waiting to get it in to be detailed so i can take some pretty photos.

New guidelines:
ONLY 2023/2024 R1T!
Friends and Family who are referred by an employee can receive $6,000 USD / $9,000 CAD discount on available Model Year 2023 and Model Year 2024 R1T with Large pack.

What’s needed for a referral:
The okay to share your information to Rivian.
Email.
Name.
Order Number.
