A few years ago, I bought two Tesla Wall Chargers because I bought a Model Y and ordered a Cybertruck. However, the Cybertruck was taking too long and SuperChargers were now open to most CCS EV's. So I cancelled my Cybertruck and bought a Rivian R1T a couple weeks ago. I also bought a A2Z AC Adapter for my Wall Charger and a A2Z DC Adapter for Super Chargers until Rivian ships me theirs. Now the big question. Could I charge both EVs at the same time w/o overloading my 50amp breaker.
The answer is yes and it works really well. The Wall Chargers are configured as a pair and have a max amp draw of 42 amps. When both are charging, they each pull about 20 -22 amps. I played around with the model Y and reduced its draw to 15 amps. When I did this, the Rivian increased to 27 amps. I played around some more and every time, the Wall Chargers never exceeded 42 amps.
Apparently, load sharing several Wall Chargers at hotels is pretty common.
