I’m hoping the PAAK improvements are for all iPhone 15 Pro’s. That is what I have and the last update definitely made the PAAK worse for me. I have had to take my phone out and physically unlock it on the app more than a few times now.

I’m also hoping my garage icon pops up again when I get close to home. It used to work but has gone away since the last update and I’ve tried to turn it on and off and a soft reset to no avail. Both of these issues are mildly annoying so I figured they would be fixed in the next update.

I figured with the Gen 2 release this would be a big update and I love having a car that continually improves!

Interesting… while I know the gen2 cars have different hardware for suspension to improve the ride, I wonder if the big differences are mostly felt because of this update. All of the gen2 cars had this release ?

A couple of things I'd like fixed in this next update:
  1. improved PAAK usage for our iPhone 14 Pro Max phones. Previous updates worked fine, but this last one for the past few months about 50% of the time requires me to take the phone out of my pocket and wave it around in front of the door handles. Annoying.
  2. About every 7-10 days I have to restart the Infotainment stack because every time I set or cancel the cruise control, the little notice at the top of the nav screen says "pet mode turned off." Set the cruise control, pet mode turned off. Cancel cruise control, pet mode turned off. no sh*t.
  3. Where's my Auto High beams? I know it's summer and we don't drive around in the dark that much, but for some reason, the Auto high beams will not come on. However, if you go into settings, and toggle auto high beams off, then on again...they will reappear and work fine.

Biggest issue for me on this R1t is all the suspension rattles and noises. Our Hyundai Palisade is smoother and quieter on road cracks and washboards with traditional coil springs and shocks. I hate driving this "quiet" truck without music on :(

I’m with you - that being said, the palisade can’t do half of what the Rivian can with regards to suspension articulation.

The gen 2 is quieter allegedly, but if you read you’ll see some capability has been lost. Little, but it has.

Pet mode auto-cancels when I put the car in drive. Why would you drive around with pet mode on? According to the documentation, it should cancel when you start driving.

Online - look at the manuals from Rivians website. Water fording abilities of the gen1 is higher by 4 inches, the departure angle has also decreased slightly. Some remarks of the doors seeming lighter to shut removing some of the “premium” feel of the gen 1.

I don’t want to turn this into this gen1/ gen2 discussion. But I did want to emphasize the fact that a lot of the changes on ride, might be about this software being on the gen 2 vehicles and not released yet on gen1. What are the odds that right when they release the gen2 vehicle, gen1 vehicles now have ride improvements this fast…

This update looks great, a lot of goodness.

BUT, no attempts to fix Vampire Drain.

I guess Rivian has thrown in the towel on this? GEN 2 is the answer I guess.
April 23 R1S used to have horrible vampire drain, 2-3% per day. After a few service visits, OTA updates and turning off any at home Gearguard it is barely noticeable. I recently was on vacation for a week and lost about 4%.

Agree it's much improved now - left car for 8 days, gearguard off - lost 5%.
