$1700 Service Center ONLY Windshield Replacement is UNSUSTAINABLE !

I've had my Launch Edition R1t Since September, ~10500 miles now. had a reservation since May of 2019. I have been following the threads here for years with people mentioning replacing their second or third windshield, and several posts about very mild pressure on the roof busting the glass...

Rivian cuts another 1% of workforce in new layoff (April 17, 2024)

It is so silly how many people don't understand that layoffs are extremely common in certain industries. 40% of americans will experience a layoff at least once. The Video Game industry is a prime example. Hire devs to get the product made and in order to manage scale, they have to move most off...

$1700 Service Center ONLY Windshield Replacement is UNSUSTAINABLE !

I think my biggest gripe is that the glass quality on the windshield and roof is really bad. I wouldnt mind the premium in price if we had some tough high quality glass. Peoples elbows resting on roof have broke it. That is nuts lol

Rivian testing new Driver+ (Autonomy Experience Module) -- stops by the FCC

So weird how aggressive people get about Elon Musk, but it fits some of the demographics here. Tesla gave free FSD and my buddy showed me a 30 minute drive home through roundabouts and terrible Colorado roads and it navigated all the way home and drove smoothly. If I could add that to this...

Trouble in the snow with my QM R1T Adventure

I disagree with 100% tires being issue. It is dangerous that the regen cannot be turned off in the snow. I had some sketchy below 10mph driving in very slippery wet snow, and I did fine until regen tried to slow me down. I can't use abs until I apply brakes so there is a gap of sketchy from...

    Colorado Checking In

I made my first road trip in the R1T and first EV road trip during snowy MLK weekend. Our family went to Park City Utah for some skiiing. We took the R1t and our friends took their Tesla Y. Going out was a shit show. Weather was not great leaving Friday and going over Eisenhower was a mess. We...

Vampire drain - what's the latest battery % loss people are getting?

I also lose "0" every night. The necessary unit of measurement for this thread IMO is % or at the most miles lost. If I park outside for an entire weekend and lose 0 miles of range, then my loss for all normal purposes is 0. I think something is going on for others that have 1 or 2% lost a night.

    Snow performance check-in....focus on tires.

Yeah definitely shopping around right now. One of my issues is that I also commute from Ken Caryl to Buckley Space force base 32 miles one way each day (until I retire in less than two years) so i feel like id eat through tires. I do have the 20ATs and would prefer to just get a winter set of...

    Snow performance check-in....focus on tires.

This is an old post but I have to say I had the SAME experience with the AT 20s this winter. I was up just past evergreen on 70 and it was the wet slushy stuff before it started freezing completely this past weekend and we had to bail and turn back. Alot of people were sliding there but that was...

'Internal rumors' from my mobile service tech (800V, LFP, new quad motor variant & more!)

This could be but it definitely doesnt go down at night. The inherent negative there is that my efficiency wont be as good since the battery will be colder.

'Internal rumors' from my mobile service tech (800V, LFP, new quad motor variant & more!)

I literally have almost zero vampire drain on my 2023 with ~23000 vin. Left outside in 40 degree weather over night and didnt lose 1 mile. I think there are other issues going on with some people and the drain.

Colorado 5280 RIVIAN owners and wannabes

Does anyone feel like this truck does not do well with ice mitigation? IDk if it was just this last storm on Sunday but our LED headlights and wipers were all jammed up with ice and the front sensors were going crazy when they had snow on them. Part of the problem was the sensors would not stop...

Denver to Durango through snow in new R1T with stock 21” Scorpion tires (maiden delivery voyage)

Ok I am glad the sentiment is shared. I think the worst part about the whole trip was being surrounded by vehicles almost bumper to bumper for that first hill giving no room to slide if needed. My predicament is that I commute around 32 miles one way from Ken Caryl to Buckley Space force...

Denver to Durango through snow in new R1T with stock 21” Scorpion tires (maiden delivery voyage)

I really really dislike any sort of regen in the snow. Like you are saying you have to hit the brakes to get ABS going which means you are going to get into a slide before you apply ABS which is just terrible. Im on 20ATs and only 3500 miles. The tires did well in the deeper snow, but this trip...

Unexpected Conserve vs All Purpose Efficiency Behavior

Yeah that follows the normal trend for braking in a vehicle in general. There is more force and traction up front which is while front brakes are always bigger. Again going from AP with rear biased acceleration and regen added in the rear vs FWD braking, accelerating, and steering its pretty...

Unexpected Conserve vs All Purpose Efficiency Behavior

I think some of the big tire wear issues in conserve come down to smoothness. If you are going to hop on steady roads and have minimal regenerative braking, you will have quite a bit less wear up front.
