I 'd hate to go the insurance route. Looking for an easy fix. Rivian own touch-up paint? Matte PPF?
Would appreciate recommendations. Thank you!

A decent local body shop could probably repaint that panel for about a thousand bucks

Go to Harbor Freight, get a $100 Bauer rotary buffer/polisher, some pads and polish and polish it out.
It won't look brand new but you'd really have to look for the scratches to see them.

Best answer for the “easy fix”. If OP wants to go a step further they could add a paint pen touch up to the mix.

Actually a bottle of polishing compound and some rags will probably take most of that out.

If you have it, a dual action polisher, foam pad, and a cutting compound should get rid of most that.

Then finish it up with polishing pad and polisher

Go with the lowest cost option first. Chemical guys has a 4 step polishing kit with cutting/finishing pads. Worst case it doesn't look much better and you have the kit to use for lighter polishing later on.

If you can't "buff it out" then your looking at replacing or respraying that panel.

One or two of those spots look like they will need filler. Depends on expectations of the end result. To get it perfect that panel should be replaced based on what I see (at least two deeper gouges).

Do yourself a favor and first try some Cleaner Wax on a soft cloth. That should remove any paint from the other vehicle and just leave the actual scratches, which should look a whole lot better.

Like others have said, most of that might buff out, if you run your hand over it and it feels smooth, then it will look fine after buffing, if you can catch a finger nail in it, and it's thru the clear into the paint, buffing won't take out those scratches, but it looks like it's just surface damage, and buffing it out should get rid of most of that.

I thought this is what bumper stickers were designed for. J/K, agree with everyone else I'd see what I could do buffing it out and if not happy take it to the preferred local body shop for a respray of the affected panel.

Body shops are pretty impressive at least in having access to tinted polishing compounds.

I was thinking of using this product years ago. I didn’t for my last paint repair and think I should have.
