It is 233 miles for the '24 Taycan Cross Turismo.

'25 Taycan Cross Turismo will be much improved. The official '25 numbers aren't in yet.

The already very good charging curve will be improved.

And since EPA test highway range at 48 mph and Taycan has a two speed transmission it severely underrates real world highway range vs competitors with a single reduction gear. Range at 65-85 mph is what matters. Every EV has more than enough range for around town city driving.

Porsche has sold over 136k Taycans globally at $80-$230k. Taycan 1.5 will be much improved overall.

And I can confirm that the Taycan is a FANTASTIC car. The best EV currently being sold. The comfort and handling are unbelievably good.

This from someone who drives a Taycan and a Rivian R1S and loves both cars. Also, because it's Porsche, that Taycan will do 0-60 faster than the specification, and the range will be quite a bit longer than specified. At highway speeds the "233 miles of range" Taycan can actually outlast a "348 miles of range" Model S. And that's the 2019-2024 Taycan. The 2025 version is way faster, and has a ton more range than the 2024.

Oh and while the base price is $163K for the Taycan Turbo, you're going to want to add options. That $163K is going to be more like $180K at least. Heck, you can get a Turbo to $235K just by checking off most of the relatively common options, and above $250K if you go all out. But it's a Porsche, and it says Turbo on the back, so you knew that already.

My neighbor was super excited to tell me he just ordered a Porsche GS4 RS. I congratulated him but kept thinking “why not a Rivian?”
Does he track it? I would drive my 18 year old BMW over my Rivian on any track day.

I am so tempted some times to put my Quad R1S into sport and leave these supercars in the dust. But I'm not 21 years old anymore...... alas.
I doubt you will need sport mode, especially if they are not using launch control.

Google says: Bugatti Chiron can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (mph) in 2.3 seconds, without launch control, it can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.84 seconds.

My wife drives the r1s 95% of the time and I drive a Tesla model Y. My next car is a taycan 4s cross turismo. I was waiting for the new generation to come out. Gonna wait for the used market to flood and a year or two down the line when depreciation really sets in. I’m very happy with the range and specs of what I read in the releases last month. Chargijg should be just fine even if I need an adapter for supercharging

you aren't buying the Porsche for its range but because its a Porsche. Love my Rivian but if I unlimited funds a Tacan Turbo S would be in my garage once the updated one is out. most likely next to my R1S but still.

Porsche sandbags their EPA range numbers. The Taycan has much faster charging as well as better interior finishes than the Rivian in the higher trims, and it's going to handle better on the road. And it has CarPlay.

They're not really playing in the same segment and I think a Taycan CT would be a perfect complement to an R1 in the garage.

With the Turismo, you're paying for the Italian sounding name. Rivian could charge an extra $50k with some smart rebranding. Meet the R-Onennzo (trademark...call me Rivian). ?

The '25 TCT looks pretty good, but pricing is in line with the rest of the Porsche line up... A decently equipped 4S is probably around $135k. Would make for a great used car in a couple years though. What I read is that the software is so so. And charging wise, it's awesome but requires high voltage chargers, so not on Tesla network for now.

Posting photos of off-reading on 22inch all seasons makes you look foolish.

If you need "specific equipment" to drive in certain scenarios you should spend more time driving.

22s work just fine for dirt track fun and light off roading, if anything some off road tires would slow you down on a dirt track because they are heavy and grippy. You need to slide and keep momentum. If you never rally'd before try it and you'll see.

I like the base Tycan. It's essentially an electric Panamera. Porsche makes good cars. I'm just not convinced that the TCT is one of them.
I had a Taycan for one year. I have been a Porsche customer since 1995. It was the worst Porsche I have ever owned. It was at the dealership for a week for four separate software updates (everyone else does this OTA). They know how to build ICE cars, but they are newbies with EVs, and it shows. The worst event I was driving between LA and SF, going around 65 on 101. all of a sudden I lost power the car dropped to 50mph. it had 80% charge no warning lights and I struggled to get off the freeway. When I took it to the dealership, they told me. "It was missing a software patch" -- I was lucky there was still massive demand for the car so my dealership bought it back for every penny I gave them.

I have not had a single issue with my R1S and it is the best SUV I have ever owned. (Prior: 2 Range Rovers, a Porsche Cayenne and a Porsche Macan). and the BEST EV (Prior: Tesla Model X, Tesla Model 3, Taycan 4S).
