The time has finally come, peeps! My email came in and I instantly clicked the reserve button. Now, the question is, "How long of a wait"?

Do we really need 7 and counting threads all on the same NACS adaptor topic?
Yep, got to make sure everybody sees the news. The more threads the harder it is to miss. Otherwise we'll end up with yet another new thread asking if anybody has gotten the actual adapter yet. 7 of these threads is easily worth avoiding 1 more of those! ?

I'm sure the mods are going to be busy merging all the threads this evening, but given them some time.

I'm vin 18XXX and don't have much confidence in getting the adapter this year. I assume all OEMs are getting inventory for the same source. Supply will be tight. I'll order the Lectron before my next road trip and sell the Rivian one when it eventually comes.

Got my invite today!

I’m a pre-3/22 reservation holder. Ordered my R1T Vin# 11,300's in Dec 2019). Took delivery 9/16/2022. Clicked the “Reserve Your Adapter” button gladly to opt-in to reserve my NACS DC adapter.

I'll be surprised if deliveries of the adapter end up being next year for anybody. Manufacturers can produce millions of iPhones in under 2 months. Those are MUCH more complicated to produce than these adapters. Months? Sure, that's possible but the pessimistic predictions of deliveries running well into next year? I'll be shocked if those come true.

All true. BUT there are maybe 1 million CCS vehicles out there from manufacturers who have signed an agreement with Tesla. That's a lot of adapters. This is not going to be like Amazon Prime where you will get your adapter with 2-day delivery. Tesla is manufacturing them (or contracting with manufacturers to make them) so Rivian is at the whim of Tesla here.

Bottom line, don't expect it immediately, and don't blame Rivian if they don't come immediately - it is Tesla that controls the timeline here.

Absolutely not expecting it immediately, but these things could easily be cranked out a few hundred thousand a month.

Agreed, they could be and should be.
But will Tesla dedicate the resources necessary to accomplish that? Do they even WANT to allow 1 million CCS vehicles to immediately flood the Supercharger network? I don't know. I just want to caution people to reign in their expectations.

I don't think its by VIN. As stated, its by delivery date.

I should be pretty early either way. VIN 34xx delivered 3/22. This will be a game changer for over the road trips.

From the Rivian email - “We are working hard to build inventory to expedite the fulfillment process”. This sounds like they may have been accumulating inventory for some time. Maybe the wait won’t be as long as some think - maybe ?
