I took delivery of my Dual Motor Standard R1T couple of weeks ago and didnt get time to dive deep into the vehicle settings until yesterday. While poking around, I found that the info was showing the battery size as 'large pack' instead of standard. Initially I thought that it could be a software error but when I checked the range, it showed 145miles on a 40% charge which comes to about 360miles on 100% charge. I am now charging it to 100% to see how much it actually shows.

Unless both the software and the range details are wrong, I am thinking that my order was matched with a wrong VIN due to the end of quarter confusion. Though am happy to shut up and enjoy the extra range, am concerned whether it could be a problem in the future. Anyone faced something like this? Any advice?

Does your order vin match your vehicles vin?

If so it's probably a configuration problem and just software based, call service they should be able to fix it.

Edit: I love how reading this thread, everyone just assumes OP has the large pack just because the GOM at 40% says he has 145 miles of range. If the software is wrong about it being a large pack then why should we trust the software of the GOM :movember:. Great for OP if he got a larger battery than he ordered but my guess is still just a software mistake.

What does it say on your Monroney (window) sticker for VIN and battery?

Does your VIN plate match the Monroney and your sales contract?

If the VIN matches (sticker, vehicle, and contract) and the sticker shows Large battery then that’s what you bought and enjoy the extra range.

edit:typo

Yes, the order VIN matches the vehicle VIN.

Contact support. I asked them to swap the 22 wheels to 20AT before my delivery and my infotainment and app still show 22s. Talking to support, it sounds like they can't fix that with a mobile service or a OTA update.

Checked Monroney and sales contract. VIN matches everywhere and all the paper work lists it as Standard battery.

They can re-code the tire size via a mobile appointment. Ask me how I know.

In terms of the battery “size”, Rivian can probably limit the (available) capacity of a max pack OTA if they decided that they wanted to.

What does your app say?

My suggestion: don't say squat to Rivian and be grateful for the $10k (after tax) gift.
App shows the 145 mile range (equivalent to large pack) but does not show any battery pack size.

Or maybe just maybe “what happens in battery size stays in battery size”. Good luck I think it would sort itself out on a firmware update.

CS I spoke to last week when he called to check on my active requests didn't offer that to me along with my key fob issue. I'll circle back on this, thanks for the info.

Yes, thats why am hesitant to contact support. If it is indeed large battery pack, I do not want to bring to their attention and get it software locked :D

Go on a 100 mile drive. Reset trip meter and track how many kWh of electricity you use and how much your batteries SOC changes.

Alternatively you could dig in the service menu and see what info you can find about the battery/modules etc.. not sure what the standard pack should show on these menus but others might.

Hmmmm, I’d be conflicted. Are you the guy that gets change for a $100 when you only gave a $10 and says nothing or not that guy?
