My pickup was canceled 4hours before. scheduled for 29th at 1pm. Just trying to help you all from potentially dealing with this. For any of you that made plans, took time off work like me etc..

I would reach out to your service center to make sure your vehicle is in fact there.

I was assured by my guide last night after communicating all day for this agreement/delivery. I received an extremely late lease agreement at 9pm at night for today’s “pickup” that is not happening.

Sorry this happened to you and it's reasonable for you to be upset/disappointed. That said, it seems like there was an issue beyond their control for which they reached out quickly (8:30 am), apologized profusely, took accountability for their actions, and offered to be fexibile with your schedule.

Not sure which part of this was a 'joke'...

A bit too old for tantrums? Shit happens in life. At least they apologized and gave additional info*. What else could any other human possibly do? What more could you have done if you were them? Frustration/disappointment is understood, but... put your big boy pants on.

*Which has now been deleted from original post. Trying to make it look like the apology and additional details, and conveyance of 1-day delay, didn't happen? Really? There are times Rivian falls short and deserves criticism. But going out of one's way to make them look like the bad guy... Childish.

Bear with me a minute while I make a point.

My delivery was scheduled for 3/28. I was informed about 20 hours ahead of time that it would not happen. Good communication except for the fact that I was told today that it takes them 4 days for pre-inspection, detailing, etc If that is real, why not tell someone sooner that the delivery isn’t going to happen? With only a limited number of service centers a person may need to travel more than 4 hours or even spend the night someplace to pick up a vehicle.

I think we can all agree that Rivian needs a little work on communication. I understand they are a new company and they are doing all they can to get vehicles into customers hands, but some of the missteps are causing some long term damage.

I think Rivian needs to be more open about end of quarter shenanigans. Huge rush for deliveries and they even pull people out of servicing to help get trucks out the door.

Sorry to see that it's still happening to folks. It happened to me earlier this month. Original pickup date was 3/11 and I got the dreaded call 2 hours before my appointment and it got pushed back 10 days.

Here's my ordeal.

I'd be annoyed as well... you wait almost 2 years in my case... and then schedule your day off, because they want to deliver while everyone else works. Since Rivian doesn't own the trucks that deliver, they are at the mercy of the shipping company. Guide will get on the phone, get a promise from someone else on the other end of the phone, then at the last minute they get a call that it's not being delivered. The scramble follows with no way to make the buyer happy. Sucks... Hopefully everything goes good on Sunday.

OP: Sorry not sorry for your delay, life happens, Serenity Now and move on. Don't be that guy complaining about the plane delayed for mechanical work at the airport, be grateful someone caught a problem and is fixing it.
