… but what isn’t these days?Or is that frowned upon?
That's my plan, park on the other side, planter, curb whatever to try and be as least invasive as possible. Some Tesla owners may be on road trips with their families, and though I'm not an introvert - if someone has an issue, I'll be happy to talk to them, I definitely don't want to add misery to someone's day (if possible). If possible, why not just park wherever behind a stall and do a reach around? Or is that frowned upon?
To be fair, we aren’t driving around in Teslas… a measily sidewalk can’t stop us!… but what isn’t these days?
in all seriousness, it’s a good suggestion where possible. Just note that a fair number of these stations can’t be accessed from the back because it’s a sidewalk or retaining wall or both.
Also, can we call it the Chewy Reach Around in your honor?
Cones make sense if you have a trailer. But placing cones to your left might block another Rivian from charging there. To be fair, we aren’t driving around in Teslas… a measily sidewalk can’t stop us!
To make it more obvious which stalls we’re using (blocking), maybe carry some collapsible traffic cones to put around our vehicles? Or would that be misconstrued as being too obnoxious and rude?
California… where $0.32/kWh is considered cheap. ?Just go at 2AM to charge, probably will be very open and cheapest rates, at least at this one…?

Where is the best place to attach a recovery strap on the various Tesla models, when I need to drag them out of my way at superchargers?
Wouldn't parking over the line just block the stall from another non-tesla? Seems like it'd be important to park in the actual spot, otherwise it looks like you are a knucklehead...Tesla posted a diagram of what they would prefer and it has been shared on the forum. The essence of it seems to make a best effort to stay in the vicinity of the “correct spot” as much as possible while parking over the line to the right. When I’ve tried this at Magic docks the best I can ever do is 1/2 or maybe even 2/3 of a spot to the right. I guess the idea behind this is that a Tesla might still squeeze in on the spot to the right? Not sure if that’s true. More likely, by parking over the line partway, you send a clear visual signal that the stall in front of you is occupied so a Tesla doesn’t try to back in to your left thinking it can charge there. That’s my guess anyway. Of course this all flies out the window if you show up with a ford as I’m pretty sure their charge port location forces them to go all the way over to the next spot to the right.
So true! Sadly that rate is cheaper than my home rates… This is why Solar was a no brainer for us in SoCal.California… where $0.32/kWh is considered cheap. ?
Good points. Not making a value judgement on it, just saying that is what Tesla recommends (parking over the line). You’re right though. A Ford couldn’t park to your left if you did that because they need to be further over.Wouldn't parking over the line just block the stall from another non-tesla? Key things to remember, you can't park directly to the right side of any tesla (unless you are waiting for their stall but that's not ideal).
Park all the way to the right to avoid blocking a spot.
Or, park all the way to the left and if there's room you can park at 90 degree angle.
If there's room behind, you could also try and approach the charger from that angle.
I've been to many Tesla chargers, they all have different layouts some more confusing than others.
No matter how you slice it there are going to be a ton of pissed off Tesla drivers, I've seen T v. T charger-rage...it happens, there will be some issues for sure...
Also, some stalls stick out so teslas pull in forward, those could be the more challenging stalls to navigate (often a line forms which means you'd have to pull into one spot then wait for neighbor to leave)....
It will be mayhem!
