  1. R1 Refresh (vs. Pre-Refresh) Reliability

*Knock on wood* but my truck has been pretty darn reliable. Only time it's been in the shop from small quality niggles, oh and the alignment a couple times. Never left me stranded. Very happy with the truck, need more service centers though. 31.5k miles
  2. 20" Nitto Recon Grappler AT tires 25% more efficient than Pirelli OEM AT! The holy grail!

I went to Les Schwab tire, (they were cheaper than Americas/Discount Tire). They had to order them - got them within a day. So far <500 mi, mileage is the same(?), but my Pirelli's had 31k on them, so lack of tread? Also the ride feels noticeably softer/improved, so I'm happy already. Does...
  3. Big Bear CA. 4/5/24. HULK MODE!

    Ready to play!
  4. Rivian's infinite R1T Max Pack Inventory

Maybe they’ll quietly start pushing them as a no charge upgrade to clear them out? That’s one feature I think they screwed up on, and should just discontinue. Buying again, what I have is plenty, I don’t have range anxiety at all. I would get the same size battery next time.
  5. Downside to discharging only to ~50%

Daily charge to 80%, occasionally charge to 100% for road trips. Use the truck, with a warranty as amazing as our 8yr/175k mi battery coverage, use it how you want. When I go on road trips, I have no qualms about fully charging it right before leaving. This isnt the first EV on the market, if...
  6. POLL - Who has a NACS to CCS Adapter?

Im not going to risk my truck, and possible issues + warranty coverage over a 3rd party piece. Personally, I'd be concerned it's logged (unrecognized adapter in a DC/NACS charging session), and should ANYTHING happen to my battery pack in 5-8 years, or the charge port, or anything, they would...
  7. 20" Nitto Recon Grappler AT tires 25% more efficient than Pirelli OEM AT! The holy grail!

Just ordered the Nitto Recon Grappler, they're ~8lbs lighter per tire than my OEM Pirelli's. I'm going to try them for a day, if not America's Tire said I could return/exchange them. Going to have them installed tomorrow. Thanks for the information, I liked the Pirelli's, but the lighter...
  8. Let's talk Tesla Supercharger parking etiquette...

That's my plan, park on the other side, planter, curb whatever to try and be as least invasive as possible. Some Tesla owners may be on road trips with their families, and though I'm not an introvert - if someone has an issue, I'll be happy to talk to them, I definitely don't want to add misery...
  9. Will Rivian NACS adapter allow charging with just V3 and V4 Tesla superchargers?

I home charge 99% of the time, the only time I'd use the adapter would be on a road trip. While I do go on often, is such a non-issue. I use my CCS Rivian wall charger, and it uses the same cable. I'll have the opposite problem when my R2 arrives, I'll have to use my old CCS to Tesla AC...
  10. 20" Nitto Recon Grappler AT tires 25% more efficient than Pirelli OEM AT! The holy grail!

Can you post a picture of them? Curious what the XL look like vs LT, any visual difference?
  11. 20" Nitto Recon Grappler AT tires 25% more efficient than Pirelli OEM AT! The holy grail!

I have 30k on my OEM Pirellis. Saw this post and am looking at the Recon Grapplers, these tires aren't three peak snowflake. Big deal? This is my first truck, and my first off roader. Have taken this rig to lightly off road, up to big bear it was raining/snowing last weekend, my Pirelli's...
  12. ⚡️ Rivian announces: March Tesla Supercharger access & free NACS adapters!

Im sure it will work, but im not going to spend $200 to get a 3rd party adapter, when a OEM-blessed one is coming for free. I don’t want to risk this a2z quality control, they have less skin in the game, than Tesla or whoever is making ours.
  13. No service appointments available. Now what?

I live in SoCal, and this service center - while great, is massively overbooked/worked. They need another service center in San Bernardino(Rancho/Ontario) or Riverside/Corona.
  14. Latest RiDE Menu Code

x12000 VIN 92% SOH 28k miles Location: SoCal Times Fast Charged: <12, and then at least 10 of those were between 20-80%. This is my 3rd BEV, so I'm familiar with charging. When new there was only the 70/85/100% sliders, I left mine at 70% SOC. I have only full charged the truck twice, once...
  15. 48A vs. 40A for home charging??

Replaced my Tesla 48A Gen 3 Charger (which kept overheating), with my Rivian 48A, works perfectly. Love the look of it, has the same green pulse like our trucks do. Would highly recommend!
  16. R1T Limited Regen Warning: What's normal?

Had the same issue, came down from lodgepole campground recently, no chargers up there. Truck got regen warning 90% of the way down, pretty disappointing. Guess the regen heats up the motors too quickly? Was better than nothing. Kept me at a safe speed, still had to use the brakes...
  17. Volvo Joins NACS

I just went on a 650mi + road trip, and EA is garbage. Don’t have enough stalls, some are chronically broken, no thank you! Once those Superchargers open, I’ll NEVER use a EA charger again. It was such a horrible experience.
  18. Camping range anxiety

One stop at an EA station had all chargers reduced to 50kW because of “software upgrades & customer satisfaction”, on a holiday weekend. 2 different locations had one of the 4 chargers broken. I had lines at several, where I went to other chargers, rather than waiting. All issues I never...
  19. 36A or 48A home charging?

The ONLY thing I would like to add, it's marginally better to AC (Level 2) charge your truck as fast as possible, versus slower/trickle charging it. I cannot find the post, but a University did a study on EV batteries (Tesla), and found in Level 1 vs Level 2, when using a 110v plug, it keeps...
  20. Camping range anxiety

Just thought I'd give an update, if anyone (even non-Rivian owners) find this post. Left the Walmart EA Fresno with 100%, arrived up the hill at Lodgepole Campground at 62%/179mi. The truck lost ~2% per day, though we were opening/closing the truck/bed/doors at least 50 times/day, waking it up...
