We are glad to see Rivian getting into the hinterland. Rivian must have made an error. Baton Rouge is not in California.

Seriously. I've managed to take my MINI SE from New Orleans to as far as Dallas, but there are some serious gaps and no redundancy along the route. The only CCS chargers around Baton Rouge currently are at car dealerships with limited access and/or low speeds.

I'm scheduled to finally pick up my R1S next week in Texas, which will make trips much easier than the MINI, but it will still take careful planning and risk delays from unreliable or crowded charging stations.

Things are slowly getting better the other direction from here along I-10, with Tesla recently adding magic docks in Pearl River, LA, and Bucees adding CCS chargers in Alabama.

Our problem with the charging dessert are improving. The Tesla SCs opened up today- with adapters- several alternate options available RAN in BR open; Pearl River, La Magic doc; Buccees Robertsdale, AL; Crestview, FL- FPL Evolution (exit 56, I-10). Roadtripping Rivian becoming easier. Btw- if you have not seen R2 in person- you will love it! Safe Travels.

I used the Baton Rouge RAN twice yesterday on my way from New Orleans to Lake Charles and back. It was convenient to pop into the Trader Joe's to use the bathroom and buy some granola and other snacks. Added a few kWh at a level 2 charger while I was in Lake Charles giving me enough juice to get back to the RAN without another charging stop. Best part was all of the electricity for the trip was free.

Southern Georgia is still a EV desert and Don;t get me started on the entire state of Mississippi and a lot of Alabama. Rivian could really pick up some charge sessions with all of the US and State Parks down South.

currently under construction at I-10 exit 265 (Bus US 190) in Fremaux Town Center. A couple of miles west of I-10/I-12/I-59 interchange. In early stages. Crew says maybe a month? 6 spots initially with capability for 12.

Near 8 Tesla 150 kW Supercharges at 1303 Town Center Parkway.

I live in Alabama and have found the state has pretty good Supercharger coverage, which will make Rivian trips easy now. Alabama also has one of the few Magic Dock superchargers (Alabaster, AL) in the country so far.
