This happens to me sometimes when I unlock using the buttons on the fob, leave the fob in the house, then try to use paak to drive. It asks for the key card but that won't even work so I have to run inside and get the fob.

I'm wondering if it expects to detect the fob in truck and that's only key it will accept.

To drive the vehicle without a key fob or phone key, start it within 60 seconds of unlocking the vehicle with the key card or band. If 60 seconds pass before you can start the vehicle, you must touch the key card or key band to the sensor on the driver door's interior trim for a few seconds. The vehicle chimes to confirm. Once you hear the chimes, you can start the vehicle.

If you use PAAK, your R1 isn't detecting its presence. Take phone out of your pocket and put it on the charging pad. Similar situation if you used your key fob (and maybe the fob's battery has gone weak).

I use PAAK exclusively. Prior to 2023.50 I would get this prompt whenever I have my phone in my left back pocket. Now, it doesn't seem to care and can sense the phone.

That’s how the vehicle operates if you didn’t have your keyfob or phone in the car with you or active.

When my S was in for repair the other week Service discovered that my door inside sensor for the keycard was not working. I had only used the keycard once on delivery day and all appeared to function normally because I was within the 60 second window. Perhaps everyone should test the keycard before they need it.

When that happens try getting out of the vehicle and walk away for a few minutes then try it again.

That happens to me from time to time. I only use phone as a key. I’d need to tap the phone screen and wake my phone and the car would start.
