Feature request: AI detects parking lot, then enable right steering wheel button to switch to main camera view

If I need the cameras in that situation, at a very slow speed or stop, I quickly shift to reverse and back to drive. Alexa or a button press would be great, but the above works ok for me.

why touch any button or call a command. Alexa don't understand my accent 70% of the time. i want AI to detect parking lot/garage and turn on the parking assist cameras, no intervention needed. lot of cars do that already.

I use the camera when I am trying to park Plank-length to the left curb in an end slot of a parking lot to avoid door dings from the idgits who might park next to me. With the 22" darks, even fairly low curbs can easily scratch the wheel.

I agree with the above. At slow speeds one of the steering wheel buttons turns into a camera button, like the garage button does for location.

This ask cannot be understated. But, we need to take into account outdoor temperature and speed. Gotta balance the smell with frigid temperatures or downpours, and against window buffeting at high speeds.

i use cameras all the time. life saver... better safe than sorry. this is my first truck... so no shame in accepting that it takes bit more work to park than my suv.
and i don't understand snarky comments. we are discussing a potential feature here not bashing rivian. we are asking for a feature which will help lot of people.
and this is a feature which lot of cars have been doing for years. so it is not that we are asking for something egregious
