My 2022 R1T Launch Edition got a recent upgrade!
Originally I had the factory 275/55/21 road tires and needed to go...
So I sold those and upgraded to the specs below:
I went ahead and installed 275/65/20 BFG KO3 all terrain tires.
These are BFG's all new all terrain platform.
More aggressive sidewall (similar to KM3) with a slightly different
tread pattern from the previous KO2s.
I also paired the KO3s with the Rivian specific Black Rhino Voltaic forged wheels
Specs: 20x8.5 / +35mm offset / 32.4 lbs (8lbs lighter than factory) / Gun metal finish
They drive very smooth and not very loud. Im used to these types of tires on other trucks/Jeeps so
they seem quiet to me.
Rivian has calibrated the Rivian to accept the new 275/65/20 size.
Some Rivian already come standard with this size.
One downside, is if you are driving in conserve mode (low), you may experience rubbing over bumps.
There is only about a finger worth of room from the top of the tire to the arch. I never have the Rivian
in conserve mode even on the highway. Always All purpose mode for everyday driving.
