R1S Chrome Delete - TWRAPS vs EV Sportline

Has anybody had first-hand experience with both TWRAPS's Chrome Delete and EV Sportline's Chrome Delete? I'm interested, but do not know which one to get.

They're similarly priced, have the same colors, and are both digitally cut and made in the US. TWRAPS uses 3M 1080/2080 or Avery Dennison SW900, while EV Sportline only uses 3M 2080. Are there any other differences?

I have the EV Sportline version. It's all the same stuff. As you stated, they both use 3M 2080 and are both digitally cut, so it really doesn't matter. I went with EV Sportline because you get 2 sets included in the price. In my case, I needed it because the very first piece I tried to take off ripped where it wasn't supposed to.

At the time Twraps was just 1 set, but I believe since then they now offer 2 sets for the price too. I would get whichever you feel more comfortable with or if you like one of the colors that only 1 company offers more.

I made a tutorial on how to put it on if you don't want to wade through the basically raw video EV Sportline has.

We use Avery Dennison for gloss black and 3M for the other colors. The reason is that we’ve had complaints about the 3M gloss black showing some hazing/different color spots, so we switched to Avery and the issue was solved. Haven’t had this issue with other 3M colors though ??‍

That is 3M 2080 wrap - it’s a feature on the 3M vinyl to protect it during install, once installed peel off the outer layer.

It’s the difference between which vinyl supplier they use. Avery doesn’t have the same protective layer (which let’s be honest for our tiny installs doesn’t matter; for a full hood/door with stretching it could prevent a scratch).

Would you guys say the 3M of the glossy vinyl that EV sells is better or worse than the Avery Denison that TWraps/Abstract Ocean sells or all the same. I noticed EV has more cutout areas where the vinyl bends. Not sure if that makes it easier to install compared to TWraps.

I don’t think the cutouts matter that much. The TWraps for me was pretty easy to install. They all have a bit of stretch which makes them really forgiving even if you’re not perfect all the way through the process.

@pangpang77 maybe I will try twraps as they have a 20% off sale. In terms of how much vinyl you leave on the top vs bottom, how did you decide? I just don’t want to squeegee it in and realize I didn’t leave enough and it shows the silver line. Or realize I left too much vinyl and it bunches up and can’t go in with the squeegee.

Does twraps come with the alcohol wipes or does EV Sportine come with the alcohol wipes?

I followed the video they provided. You’ll get the hang pretty quickly I think. They tell you line up up top to cover the hole up top but not too much. There is greater margin for error on the bottom part if I didn’t remember incorrectly.

They also suggest you do 12” at a time which is great because you can always redo if you’re not happy with that section. That’s the best advice.

It didn’t come with alcohol wipes, but I just used rubbing alcohol at home with a microfiber towel to go over it once.

I was wondering what those leopard spots are in my gloss black ones. It is very annoying as people comment on it when they see it up close.

There should be no spots at all...could be defective vinyl which we didn't catch (we had a lot of defects with 3M that's why we switched to Avery but they are also not immune to defects). Just DM me with your order # and I can send a new set ??

Twraps are awesome. I love how their customer service is amazing and quick.
