One thing I never got about lifted trucks and now the CT is bed side access. I access the bed from the side frequently. This is now non existent. Your only access if from the tailgate. And if you have something near the headache then you have to get all the way in the bed. I am all about utility and that just doesn’t work for me.
While looking at a few YouTube reviews, I was somewhat surprised about being impressed by some of the features of the truck, but also could not quite get my head around it being an actual truck. I guess in the end, just like lifted trucks, it serves very little purpose as a truck. And both types of owners would not care about practicality.

Aside from my personal opinion that the cybertruck design just doesn't do it for me, there are some deal killers on it compared to the Rivian. Even if I take looks out of the equation.

-Small Frunk. I love my frunk space.
-No gear tunnel. I love my gear tunnel too.
-No gauge cluster in front of the driver
-No shifting stalks or blinker stalks. Tried in the S and just couldn't do it.
-No view out the rear window with the tonneau cover closed. How silly is that? Would have been cool if cybertruck had a second track that could have it closed just below the window line as well.
-Range is horrible. Tesla ALWAYS overinflates their range figures. Count on 75% of what they say. Rivian, with 21's, I actually get the stated range. Tesla real world range will be 75% of whatever the figure is for your combination. Thus, a lot more charging stops on long trips. My guess, can probably do 250 miles on the freeway at 75 MPH. Maybe. Just a guess though. Cold weather, even less.
-That spartan minimalist interior is just horrid. Hated the Model 3 because of it, now it's gone even more extreme.

To many deal killers for me.
If they didn't exist, would appreciate the Tesla Supercharging network, but we'll have that next year anyway, so they'll lose that advantage. And the AutoPilot in Tesla is far superior. But, Rivian is improving its highway use, which is where I use it primarily anyway. All the fluff Tesla includes in terms of video games, videos, etc, mean nothing to me.

On the looks side, even removing the design style, the cybertruck looks like an unfinished custom project. No polish and finish to make it sparkle. A tin can with 4 wheels. No decorative items to dress it up at all.

Have always admired how Rivian made the rear end look a bit smaller that in really is. Could you guys work on my GF? Haha…I’m dead!

This is an interesting shot. I stumbled upon a CT this morning and from any other angle, it looks, visually at least, *much* bigger than...anything.

It definitely looks more than 6” longer than an R1T. Probably just an optical illusion because of the long, straight line from the peak.

I met a friendly Tesla employee charging the Cybertruck. He let me take these pictures. (I have Christmas lights on my crossbars haha)

Well, I know I am in the minority, but the silver dumpster is really growing on me. It is the side profile that bothers me the most. I am starting to like the front and rear views.

What I really like is the 173 kWh battery capacity with the supplimental battery installed. It is what I wanted with the Max Pack that Rivian failed to deliver.
Checked it out in person & looks just as unfinished as 2019, the only thing that helps visually is a wrap. For me the only clip I like is the grill, until the headlights get packed with snow?‍♂.
The range extender seems like more of a marketing bandaid in the case of the CT if it ever gets implemented.
I think it is a poor design the way it creates a step in the bed. I am sure there are work arounds but they surely had space within the frame that could have been utilized. (The R1T is smaller & has room for more battery)

When I first saw CT 4 yrs ago, I thought it was a drawing from a kindergartener. Now it grew on me like your ugly grandchild?. Will see how functional and utilitarian CT is. So far YouTube reviewers like Sandy Munro and Hagarty are raving about it. I am a fan of anyone pushing the boundaries of conventional engineering. I admire that they not afraid to fail.
