Why do you think there is no bird's eye view? Even my 2018 Model 3 was updated with a bird's eye view several months ago, just put the car in gear. That said, I don't find bird's eye views all that useful compared to the side mirrors and looking out the windows. It's more of a gimmick.
Do you have a picture/video of this? I got rid of my Model 3 in May .. and it didn't have it then .. can't find any info on it now.

Everything I see that is "birds eye view" is not actual camera but more the Tesla animations (which is not good enough for parking)

Well, there you go. Thank you for finding one! Maybe GM read Tesla's book they sent to each CEO encouraging them to make the switch to 48v to get the whole manufacturing ecosystem to move on from 12v. Thank you for the info
The new Corvette's electrical system is a hybrid dual bus 48V/12V system to service the hybrid system. I'm sure you will find most of the components are still powered by 12V.

There is not a single person in the world that "you can't buy off".

I agree he's generally pretty good. But to act like he's not at all concerned about losing access to his bread and butter is naĆÆve. If he's counting a rear camera that you have to look down to see as better visibility than being able to glance in a mirror that is in the line of view going forward .. he's lost all credibility there.
It’s likely not a coincidence that Cory Steuben left Munro. That last video with Munro and Cory talking about the CT spy shots was hilarious. You could feel Cory rolling his eyes every time Munro extolled anything Tesla

The birds eye view on all cars is not an actual camera view (because there is no bird's eye camera), it's a digitally composed composite image derived from all the cameras together.

There’s no bird’s eye 360 view in *any* Tesla. I still have a ā€˜21 MYP

I know what it is.. the RIvian has one and its amazing .. I don't think Tesla has one from what i can find. Unless you are referring to the animation.

Bird's eye 360 view is at the top of my favorite features. As this is my first truck (always owned cars), its is AMAZING when it comes to help parking. Just making sure I'm in the lines and pulled all the way through.

Not sure if you’re joking or trolling? But just do a quick search and you’ll find plenty of vehicles and manufacturers offering all of those.
You are incorrect. But something tells me you don’t change your mind about stuff. So we won’t try.

Agreed. No curb rashes. Which I can’t say with the MYP. It’s always a guessing game where the front curbs might be when parking haha

You missed in your book where a company who never made a truck made and built one in short order that has better specs as a truck than anything else out there.
None of those engineering marvels you stated are vehicles that you can buy or drive.
Thatā€˜s a perfect non-sequitur.

Triple failsafes, same as required by aircraft. It is addressed in the vid.
And with Teslaā€˜s history of FSD killing people, we can be sure their drive by wire will follow suit. Equating Tesla drive by wire to aircraft fly by wire is a fools errand. Did Tesla’s drive by wire go through even 25% of the testing and independent analysis required for FAA acceptance and certification of fly by wire? Of course not.

Just because you CAN automate something doesn’t mean you SHOULD. Rivian AC vents are the perfect example.

I think the benefit of drive by wire is realized in the CT. It has variable rate steering, and it has a separate steering for the rear. I really like the idea of variable rate steering. You could have like 70% of the steering relate to the max steering possible at that speed. Like if you are going 45 mph, you can only steer so much before you reach peak later g-forces. It would take some mental remapping, but it seems like you could get used to it. It seems like Tesla is doing something like this.

All that said, I don't generally want drive by wire in any of the vehicles I drive for fun, as it would lose any possible steering feel. But, Tesla doesn't seem to care about steering feel. I think Rivian does at least some.
Variable Ratio Steering has been around for over 20 years. Steer by wire is not necessary to implement it.

I just struggle to understand all the hate from some individuals and why can't we appreciate other brands, models, etc.
Usually, the people who groan the loudest about "Tesla fan bois" are the biggest Rivian fans boys themselves. Ironic, isn't it?

Personally, I welcome all EV's with open arms and think people need to lighten up on the brand wars. Rivian is my second favorite brand, but I can even appreciate my brothers old Nissan Leaf for what it is. Rivian fans that hate Tesla tend to forget how Tesla's early successes with pure battery-electric cars are largely what propelled the many successful rounds of funding that Rivian used to become the automaker they are today. Without Tesla's successes, Rivian would not have been able to raise the billions of dollars they did, as easily as they did during the "EV gold rush".

Are you kidding me?? Tesla wasn’t even founded by Elon. And the Chinese are racing way faster than Tesla ever did. Tesla was in the right place at the right time, but let’s not kiss the emperor’s butt and say: ā€œif it weren’t for Tesla, we wouldn’t have EVsā€
