Personally I give an additional $10K to have that WAY less bendable stainless body on an R1T⦠and just get it painted whatever color I want.Hopefully, this will get more people to consider a dual motor large pack R1T more. Of course, unless youāre really committed to driving a stainless steel dishwasher around town
The CT is not for me but for all of the Tesla investors and employees I hope it goes well for them.I *might* be in the minority here, but I am looking forward to seeing this tomorrow.
When they first unveiled the Cybertruck I thought it was just ridiculous, like they were faking us out. Over time it has grown on me.
However - I don't have a reservation and my preference is strongly for the R1T. The Cybertruck is just a tad too big of a vehicle for me and I prefer many of the R1T's traditional features (and looks) such as USS, 360 camera, blind spot monitoring, etc.
This is going to be a boom or bust product. It will sell extremely well or very poorly. I have absolutely no idea which to expect.
Will this impact Rivian? Possibly. If the news tomorrow is negative, that could mean more people take a look at the R1T instead. If they show off tons of unexpected features, that could drive interest.
My best guess is that Rivian will be completely fine and the market is very different. Though I do know some people who have Range Rover, Mercedes SUV/G-Wagon type vehicles with Cybertruck reservations. It's an interesting market out there.
Either way, competition is great. More consumer choice is great. It's a radical product, I can't believe they are actually going to ship this thing, but I really want to see what happens.
Tesla confirmed it last month, but we will know for sure today I assumeIs there any proof the CT has 800v?
I'm sure they will activate the 1000v capability of the v3 stations, and or be able to charge at max rate of a 400v station through software and be able to hold 250kw for a long time. Also they can use CCS 350kw stations eith their adapter that they've had for yearsExcept v4 chargers arenāt going to be ubiquitous by any means over the next few years. And by 2026, Rivian and others will also have 800v charging out.
If Tesla and Tesla stans didnāt hype up this CT to such levels, none of this would be as amusing as it is now.
Power electronics are completely different in order to get over the 500V hump. It's easy to make a cable that insulates those voltages. But that's not even half of the equation.I'm sure they will activate the 1000v capability of the v3 stations,
I agree, I'm not a Tesla guy but I'm not against them, I've just never owned one I've driven plenty thoughI *might* be in the minority here, but I am looking forward to seeing this tomorrow.

I donāt have a problem for the cybertruck per se. Definitely not for me. But I am amused by how much difference there will be between actual versus expectations when it comes to capabilitiesāthe hype has gone out of controlI agree, I'm not a Tesla guy but I'm not against them, I've just never owned one I've driven plenty though
Sparse, and "cheap af material," it seems... Watch the price plummet a year or so after production - After "The Great Charlatan" soaks the blind followers for all they are worth....265 miles?!

Hype out of control? I don't know where you could get that. I fully expect to be able to tow the moon through the ocean while withstanding an attack from a 14th century archery boat with my Cybertruck.I donāt have a problem for the cybertruck per se. Definitely not for me. But I am amused by how much difference there will be between actual versus expectations when it comes to capabilitiesāthe hype has gone out of control
