Me tooNon-studded
Man, I’m so glad you shared this. I was sad about missing out on Hakkas but now am stoked to do an apples to apples comparison of blizzaks across multiple cars. Love the blizzaks, wish they lasted longer.I ran the 275/65/20 LT3s (non-studded) last season in Tahoe. Noticeably better than the stock Pirelli ATs but I'm still meh on them. I'm still sliding getting out (down) my driveway at 1mph whereas the X-ices on the two teslas have no issues and no sliding.
When I hit an ice patch in the road it's going real sideways - versus a small wiggle in any car w/ snow tires I've ever owned (Subarus on Blizzaks, Teslas on Michelin X-ice). They just aren't confidence inspiring.
Driving from the highways to the ski resorts is totally fine - it's just the steep local roads and my driveway that make me nervous.
oh shit with the studs hey? I put too many clicks on to want to deal with the noise however there would be some moments I’d really enjoy them this season.. I think.Seattleite here. Got the studded option, picked up all terrain bright 20" from Rivian (you can get them without the Pirellis now and it saves quite a bit). Will report back but w the studs I'd be surprised if these aren't very solid in our conditions.
I have now driven 500+ miles with my R1T on 20" Rivian AT wheels plus Nokian Hakkapaliita LT3 and love them. However, miles / KwH is 1.8 vs 2.25 on my 21" Summer tires. No big deal, but for longer trips I need to plan different charging strategy...I ordered the wheels from this thread (https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/ordered-new-20”-wheel-with-48mm-offset-from-tirerack.19135/) from Tirerack. The downside is that they’re backordered and won’t be here until around Christmas. There is a cheaper TPMS option in that thread too.
Given that Hakkas generally beat out any other winter tire in tests, this is mostly likely due to the vehicle weight difference. 7000lb is harder to stop with friction than a Tesla.Man, I’m so glad you shared this. Even the blizzaks?Given that Hakkas generally beat out any other winter tire in tests, this is mostly likely due to the vehicle weight difference. 7000lb is harder to stop with friction than a Tesla.
To be honest I called several tire shops and did a lot of research and the only people who didn’t recommends Nokian were the people who didn’t sell them. And the only reviews where they didn’t win were the ones they weren’t included in.Even the blizzaks?

See 2 reviews aboveI haven’t seen any comparisons of the LT3 Nokians vs. the Blizzak LTs.
Link? Looks like the R5 and R2 from Nokian, not the LT3s unless I’m looking at the wrong posts.See 2 reviews above
Oh yea I guess, but it’s the same tread profile on the trucks. I’ve had Hakka SUV tires for years but this will be my first winter on LT3s. I’ll report back!Link? Looks like the R5 and R2 from Nokian, not the LT3s unless I’m looking at the wrong posts.
