I am looking into getting these tires as well. I have 22” under my R1S no and I will get 20” tires and Kaltire quoted Fast HD Knuckles with 275/65R20 Hakkapeliitan LT3 for CAD3500 - I have to get tire pressure sensors and Rivian ones are U$380 (4). Someone was saying I should get 60R tires so the speedometer won’t need calibration. Which wheels are you looking into buying ?
I ordered the wheels from this thread (https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...”-wheel-with-48mm-offset-from-tirerack.19135/) from Tirerack. The downside is that they’re backordered and won’t be here until around Christmas. There is a cheaper TPMS option in that thread too.

Was perusing the site and there's quite a few threads dancing around winter tires. This thread is for those who have ordered actual dedicated winter tires and which ones you went with. If you've put mileage on them, any feedback would be awesome.

I'm installing these on November.8th - https://www.nokiantires.com/tires/product-custom-pages/nokian-tyres-hakkapeliitta-lt3/

Winter for me is Whistler, BC and Pac Northwest. I do haul a trailer and this year will try my snowmobile in the bed frequently so I thought I'd go with a bit of extra beef and dedicated winters instead of the 20" Pirelli Scorps the truck came with. I realize max speed is 160km/h which is fine by me for a few months.

Anyone else tried these yet? Or perhaps another other tire on 20" rim for winter? How are they wearing / holding up? Cheers!

Am planning same winter tires as you. Was hoping to score four 20" OEM rims on ebay, but no luck so far. Will get after market rims

Does anyone have thoughts on finding a good deal for these tires? Wish Costco sold them. Would make it a no brainier to buy. Currently best deal looks like stacking 5% off of simply tire installed locally.

Had replied on another thread: Super happy with Hakka 5 SUV on our Range Rover - grip is amazing in the winter.

I’m in the same boat here for the Seattle to Snoqualmie & Whistler runs this winter (I had a scare last winter on the ATs coming down from Whistler). I don’t have the tires yet, but my research led me to the same tire (Hakka LT3s). I’ve read quite a few good reports of them, and it sounds like mileage is no worse than the factory ATs. I’m still on the fence about buying dedicated wheels for them.
Can you elaborate on the scare? I took delivery with 20" AT in early September and was planning to run them through this winter then decide if I wanted dedicated winter tires (I've had them on every previous vehicle...). The R1T isn't my commuter (my highway car has studded winters for the icy days we get in the West Kootenay mountains), but I was thinking of taking it on a few winter road trips rather than cramming into the Model 3.

I've got 21" wheels currently (20" wheels come tomorrow), so I'm more interested in 275/60R20 snow tires...per Tirerack, there are only 2 choices in that size, but are only 115 rated, and only one of them has a max inflation pressure that is high enough (Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV). Sigh. Might have to go to 275/65R20 tires instead.

The LT3s appear to be sold out everywhere. Anyone know anything about anticipated restock? Sure the ongoing Russian aggression not helping things.

shoot really, think they had decent stocks up in Canada here but probably just sitting on them since they’re super popular

I travel to and from Vermont in the winter and went with the Nokian Hakka LT3s. They were excellent last winter - a true snow tire with incredible grip. Plowing through snow drifts with these attached to four motors felt like I was in a tracked vehicle.

There was very little wear on them after one season. I took them off in the spring and went back to my 21" wheels.
I had America's tire mount some Hakka LT3s on Ram 2363s. I didn't try the OEM ATs, went straight for the snow tires. In snow flurries over Donner Pass and around Tahoe, there was nothing but grip. I didn't notice a drop in mileage, but there's also a lot of elevation change to and from the bay.

Did you guys go with studded or non-studded Hakka LT3's?

I too got the Hakka R5 for my OEM 22" wheels. Very little wear over the 4000+ miles in Northern Michigan last winter. Very good grip in ice and snow - certainly comparable to previous vehicles that I've run with Blizzaks, X-Ice, etc. My local tire shop charges me $60 to swap off the set so that was a much better option than buying a set of 22" wheels w/TPMS last Fall. In a couple of years when the Pirellis and Hakkas wear out I will revisit getting a dedicated set or wheels/tires for Winter use.

Ordered a set of Hakkapeliitta LT tires and R1000 wheels from @EV Sportline for this winter. Looks like delivery is going to be in the 2nd half of November.

It was an easy choice given that I ran a set of Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV tires on my Silverado for 3 winters before taking delivery of my R1T. They held up well to the many trips between San Francisco and Tahoe and provided great traction in treacherous winter drives. Looking forward to more of the same from the Hakka LT on the R1T.

Yeah, same in Colorado. I can't even find a full set on ebay to be shipped. I spoke to Discount Tire customer service and they said they didn't know if they'd get more in stock this winter. I might have to give up and go with the Blizzak LTs.
