Since taking ownership over 1 year ago, I have used the PAAK as my primary entry/exit key with the key card only for car cleaning or valet. I have not used the fob.

What is everyone’s primary, and why did you shoes it?

Still on 38 as well! Mine is in the shop for a rattle and some seat sensor issues, and am hopeful they will perform the updates while it’s in for the next 2 weeks!

Keyfob 95% (reason: I have the phone much more on me in the garage than the fob)
Phone 5% (paak is turned off in the vehicle so I use the action key on the iphone when I want to use the phone as a "key")
Cards are staved away in a fire resistant safe :D

And I think this is a good idea to make it into a poll unless there was one before already.

Since 3rd day after delivery, PAAK as primary, key card as backup in wallet (haven’t needed it yet). PAAK was slow at times but never so slow that it felt unusable. I always have phone anyway, so there is no point in carrying yet another bulky gadget (fob). If they’d add real Watch As Key via RFID, even better.

We have had Opal (R1T) for seven months and her current odometer mileage is 3,707. We have always used PAAK as our primary key. We each carry the card and I always have the FOB in my pocket.

Yes.

I have both with me at all times and mainly use the phone to unlock and fob to lock. Phone comes in handy when I need to remotely warm or cool the vehicle.

For passive entry -> FOB

Due to "issues" I not only had to disable PAAK, but I also had to disable bluetooth access to the Rivian App.

The experience with the FOB isn't that great, and I believe this could be a lot better if they could use different signal strengths to unlock versus lock. That way when I'm doing something like tying my shoes my RTock won't unlock and lock 5 times.

It could also be a lot better if you could turn off passive entry for locations outside of home. I also wish it could know whether it was in the garage or not. If its at home in my garage then I want passive entry off. But, if its home outside my garage then I want it on "lock only".

Right now I have it set to lock only at home, and I think that will be how I leave it for awhile. I also plan on using a RF blocking enclosure for my Coast home as I always park in the garage there so I think I can simply dump my Keys in there when I get home to prevent them from constantly waking my R1Tock due to proximity to my keys.

I also use the FOB because I want to make sure I have my keys with me.

My usage of the Phone is limited to checking up on the vehicle, and for things like turning on the heaters or the defrost. This is done through cell or wifi.

PAAK 100% of the time. I admittedly am a bit nervous about doing that, one day I came out and the car had just randomly 'forgotten' my phone and I needed to get a key to get into the vehicle and re-program the phone.

It can be annoying to not have a key, when you get stuck with valet parking situations. But I just play dumb and ask them to park where they won't have to move it.

I was smart enough to bring a key with me when I upgraded my iphone at the mall ... I could see someone forgetting that until it was too late...

I have used PAAK a couple times by accident and it worked just fine. But I still grab the key just in case it doesn't work.

I actually forgot to take my key when taking the vehicle to the SC and had to drive back home to get it about an hour each way.

Our key fob is locked away in a filing cabinet somewhere along with the title and other purchase materials. I have never actually even tested it.

PaaK almost exclusively. I have a key card in my wallet as backup in case my phone runs out of power or something else goes wrong.

For me, I don’t have any other keys since I use key pads for my home so I lose track of the Fob a lot cause I’m not used to carrying “keys”. Usually hunting around the house for which jacket I left it in or pants pocket or work bag. But it’s a nice back up to have, especially on road trips or lending the truck out to friends.

99% of the time, I have BOTH my iPhone and FOB in my pocket - so I really don't know whether the proximity unlock is being initiated by PAAK or FOB communication. Carrying the FOB is a legacy habit and I keep a couple of necessary keys on the carbiner so it's always been part of my every day carry.
