Exactly. All I see is a minivan too, and for me the words 'nice looking' and 'minivan', don't belong in the same sentence !! Still, it sounds like plenty here like the look, so each to their own.
But it is a great looking minivan.

What distinguishes a SUV from a minivan?

What distinguishes a SUV from a minivan?
Originally, SUVs were built on a body-on-frame frame truck chassis while Crossovers and Minivans are built on car chassis. These days, who knows?

It looks like a station wagon to me. But if they sell it for under 80K and it goes 400 miles on a charge, it'll be a game changer. Although I don't see that happening. I bet 80k will go 300 miles or so.
That’s still further than an $80K Rivian R1S.

There’s no way this thing gets 400+ miles at 80K. Heck it won’t get that much for under 100K.
I agree. The $80k version will be 320 miles of range. EPA. Whoop tee do.

Maybe they will shock us all, but I expect the 440 mile range version will be $120k.

Air Pure has a 92kwh pack. If Gravity still gets 3mi/kwh, that would be 270ish range
Multiple sources say the pack is 120 kWh. Well, at least for the super duper, dreamer version.

BTW - I am joking around about it, but I really respect Lucid and the technology they have in their vehicles. They are class leading. The Gravity appears to be a great vehicle. It reminds me of a Subaru Outback, made by Lexus. Luxury with some minor off road capability. Like gravel roads and a few small rocks. Fine. And super efficient.

It seems like a great car actually. They have a year to prove they can deliver it at a price the market will accept and save Lucid from bankruptcy. Because this is it, IMO. This is their make it, or die, product.

It’s the same battery pack between the two cars. Based on Air’s battery line, the cheapest has 92kwh

Actually, Lucid is reporting it is a totally new platform, and it is not based on the Air at all. That said, a 92 kWh pack could very well be what is in the base model. That has not been reported yet from what I have seen.

R1S and Gravity are at the opposite ends of the 3 row electric SUV market.

Little real cross shoppers though many may claim to be cross shopping.

Lucid is more efficient with longer range, more room in the 3rd row, easier ingress and egress and offers leather seats.

Rivian has genuine off road chopps and is just plain dope.

Lucid is Ralph Lauren while Rivian is Patagonia.

I am cross shopping them. My primary goal is long highway (80 mph) range. I love the off road capability provided by the R1S, but I almost never have a reason to go on anything worse than gravel.

I am not a big fan of the glass roof. In fact, I will cover it with vinyl if I get the Gravity or the R1S. If the Gravity can provide significantly more highway range for a similar price as the R1S, that is the way I will go. But right now, it appears that is not the case, especially if the R1S has efficient wheels. That aspect of the Gravity reveal is very disappointing.
