This is what happened to me to! It’s still not installed. It unpaired my phone key and I don’t know why. I did not uninstall my app or anything like that, the pair key just unpaired itself. So I've just called support this morning and now have to wait for the software dev team to show up for the day before I can get any update. Once again, I hate this. Done with my Rivian.
Good to know I'm not the only one. My CSR last night said it was being installed on its own but I didn't buy that. I have another CSR that should be reaching out later today and I'm thinking I'll have to go by the service center and have them manually install it there. I'm hopeful to have this fixed today.

I just got off the phone with them again. They asked for my authorization to remotely push and force install the update. I said yes. I’ll see where things stand in about an hour
Let me know if it works ?

An hour and a half later and still nothing. Back on with support, and this guy is saying it won't force the actual install, they can only force pushing the update to me so I can initiate it. So I'm explaining to this guy that I CANNOT initiate it. The button is grayed out. My god this sucks.

My call about 5 minutes ago went the same way. Their end shows it is updating but my end shows nothing. ?‍♂

Haha. You could get a quote, but I'm sure they will make sure it's fixed prior. I'm still hanging onto my R1S. Too fun to drive. Yes this situation sucks. My next call will be in front of the service center and I'm hoping they will be able to do something there.

For me this is just the last straw. I've had this truck for 14-15 months now. I've had to visit the service center like 6 times, which means at least 3 hours of out of my day for drop off and pickup. I've had to drive shitty rental cars each time for about a week. The hardware and software problems just never seem to end for mine. I think I just got a shitty build, but still, I'm done with this thing. It's really a shame, I've been a huge Rivian proponent from the very beginning, but this has pushed me past the point of being able to support them anymore. It sucks, though, everything else on the market I'm looking at is meh. I'll get something else, and I won't like it nearly as much as the R1T, but at least it won't be full of problems.

Edit: and I STILL don't have a working powered tonneau cover that I paid for...

Fair enough. You gotta do what you gotta do. Can't fault you for that. Carmax usually has better trade in values than carvana. Maybe get a quote from them and take it to a local dealer to match or beat?

How can you say for sure…. If, for instance , you got a Tesla Model S Plaid, I can say “for sure” it would ne a worse experience. I have both, so I can speak to this.

Right, you never know. And a lot of Rivian owners have had much more reliable vehicles than I have. But overall I think I'm just done with "new" manufacturers for now. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, though, I had a Model 3 (early build, too) for 4 years and the thing was flawless. But still, I don't want to go back to Tesla.

I for one would like to encourage @JGard18 to look elsewhere for their daily driver vehicle if they are so unhappy. Life is too short to hate what you're driving.

Plus unless you got the Plaid recently, you also have seen what they do to you on your resale value with the new price drop. Or hopefully you leased it.

I agree....if I get pissed at my R1T or the service experience enough...I go back to gas and get a Lexus GX550 overtrail.

Another idea...trade it in on a new R1T lol.

Maybe wait for R2 or even sometime after a refresh?
