They still haven't made them. I ended up going with 20" wheel and going with the Defender LTX m/s2 in 275/60/20 (33" vs 32.9")which ends up being the same size as my old 21". I avoid having to get my truck recalibrated
I would be very interested to hear how these work for you, I think I'll do the same thing in another 10k miles or so when my OEM 21's wear out.

I have the tires just waiting for the wheels from EV sportline. Hopefully have them in 2 weeks.

I would recommend a tire with at least a 50psi rating because that is the recommended pressure from Rivian. A tire that can withstand 50psi will carry the load. Every 5psi lower you run the tires is a decrease in 10% capacity of the tires and will over heat the tire when you reach the weight of the vehicle across the four tires. Buying a tire with a higher psi rating could be a waste. For instance an 80psi tire will carry more than the rest of the vehicle is rated for (if you run it at 80), is much heavier due to the extra plies and that reduces efficiency a lot. That added rotating mass is a horrible. Compare the tire weights when you are shopping; of course lower load range tires are lighter. Harder to keep heavy tires balanced, worse ride and you'll need to run it at 50psi to have them wear correctly anyway.

The LTX M/S-2 is a great tire. It's an efficient truck tire than will let you drive in foul weather and most offroad trails you'll encounter in a Rivian. The Pirellis are likely the very lightest tire they could engineer for efficiency to carry the truck in the plies, tread thickness and compound; and it shows because they don't last.

I would imagine that these Michelin 275/55R21 will be available later (summer 2024-spring 2025?) as more Rivians are out on the road and more of them wear their Pirreli OEM tires down to warrant replacement.

Basically, I don't think there's not that big of market right now to support to the production costs for a new tire size and in enough quantities to sell right away for their return on investment. Are theere some early 21" Rivian adopters that need tires now, definitely, but is there a market big enough to support production Michelin at this time, probably not (and I'm an owner with 21" road wheels). However, I think down the road Michelin will put out the 21" tire once they feel their production efforts will be supported in enough volume sales.

Yup, agree. Soon there will be a higher volume of fed up 21" owners looking for alternatives. Never underestimate the power of capitalism.

Might have been on the other Rivian Forum (owners), but someone supposedly pulled data from Michelin site that showed the 21" OEM tired size in Defender has release date of July 2024. Have 20" rims to use for the winter, but plan to keep running my 21" from spring to fall and timing will work out if they do come out next summer for me to replace out the factory tires.

Good to know! My tirerack specialist also confirms this info.

Summit Racing is now showing delivery of 21" Michelin LTX M/S2 in mid Feb!

Rivian R1T R1S New 21" tire option - Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 275/55-21 @ $380 Screenshot_20240110-031118

However, re-reading this thread this is not the first time Summit Racing has listed this as "shipping soon" ... grain of salt?

Interesting thread.

I've been very happy with my 21's. Just did another rotation at 20k miles and I'm at 5 or 6/32 all the way around. I'm also not always light footed, but most of those 20k are highway miles. I expect to get at least 30k miles out of the Pirellis, maybe even a bit more. It would take me a lot to change from there but these do look tempting.
