Supposed to get my Ocean One in less than a month. If you're in Michigan, let me know, I'll let you take mine on a quick drive.
Have you seen Doug's recent upload about it? If not best to check it out. You can get a good look at the interior, exterior, etc ;)

For me the displays' quality and the SW laginess were the most prominent red flags but I did chicken out on the Fisker reservation so I am an outsider at this point :D
The 4runner style rear window was the high point :)

Fisker just the other day said they were giving One owners the next generation infotainment upgrade for free once it's available. ETA is 1st half of 2025. Not sure if we'll hold onto the car that long honestly, but I've resolved to give it 6 months to decide if we keep the Ocean or the R1S.

Price cuts right after one buys a vehicle and not compensating - that not what I meant. On the other hand. Tesla sold me a Model Y $16,000 below what the vehicle was priced at the time I finally agreed to take delivery. So they honored the price locked 20 months prior on a $100 non-refundable reservation.
It's not that specifically that is the issue but it's a pattern that Tesla has shown over and over and it's very relevant to my viewpoint. There were a LOT of unhappy owners as a result of those multiple price decreases. Most people were just left hanging in the wind. It's a perfect example of Tesla not giving a shit about their customers after they have your money. If you would rather discuss them taking FSD or other features out of a car that was sold private party without the customer's permission/knowledge when in for service that's fair game as well. And they CERTAINLY aren't going to honor the price people thought they were getting when they "locked-in" in 2019 for a Cybertruck at $39K to $69K. All I am saying is that Tesla is a different kind of company compared to GM, Mercedes, Volvo, etc and while there are some good things that come from that there are also some really questionable decisions they make that upset existing customers and they are non-repsonsive to those issues in some cases. PR nightmare or not.

Fisker is an interesting one. On the one hand the man can design a car styling-wise. But he's a bit of a snake oil salesman making claims/promises he often can't deliver on. My hope is that he's learned from his past mistakes and that having a company as well-established and competent as Magna producing the cars the Ocean will be as good as promised. I do think not having the overhead of a factory is a brilliant move to get off the ground and established.

Build quality has been reported to be class leading. Software is currently an issue, which should be no surprise to anyone buying a first year vehicle from a new manufacturer. Haven't heard any complaints about panel gaps at all and all of the photos I have seen of others have been near perfect. Some paint issues that are likely caused by the month long journey the vehicles take to get delivered here.

I'm excited about it, but they definitely have an uphill battle with the software if I am comparing it to a company that has 18 months ahead of them.

Yes I think having Magna as their manufacturer gives them a huge leg up with build quality

Cybertruck reservations didn’t have a lock on the price, as they are fully refundable. The Model Y reservation fee was non-refundable, so Tesla honored the price at which the reservations were made.

Tesla stopped removing FSD on privately sold vehicles a long time ago. It did happen, but not as a rule . It may have been an inadvertent action that wasn’t approved.

Tesla has plenty of problems you can criticize it for. There is no reason to make things up.

i‘m afraid I can’t agree with your belief the Tesla wouldn’t leave their customers hanging. As a s and x owner , bought in 2013 and 2016 respectively, I have watched Tesla lie, backtrack and alienate their most enthusiastic fans. Ask people who took a huge bath buying a week or two before the price cuts how Tesla made it right by them. For a car company to be concerned about PR, wouldn’t they actually have a PR department?
This 100% true about Tesla.

Asked about range and he said I will be pleasantly surprised
Sounds pretty on point to me. God forbid they actually tell you its specs before asking you for $100K.
