I ordered the LinerX 2nd and 3rd row mats, but now that I see there is a gap at the "hump" between the 3rd row (folded down) and the rear cargo area, I will probably return and look for another option. That hump is not protected from anything sliding over it. :(

Just a note - our seat backs are designed to fit with the floor in its Lower positions and the Flat Cargo Bed positions. However, it’s best for the 3rd row to always stay folded down and remain in the flat cargo bed position to connect all the mats. You can adjust the 2nd and 3rd rows as needed; that's what the seat backs are for. But we totally understand since everyone has their own preferences and we’ll keep working to improve. Thank you for choosing LinerX!

Do you mean that if we install it as designed, there shouldn't be that big gap between cargo area and the third row seats?

Thanks folks from LinerX, that's a great point about having the cargo bed flat. If possible, could "searvn" post a picture with the rear cargo floor in the flat position?

@LinerX, please put photos of all the mats with the 3rd row down, 2nd row up and rear cargo floor in the flat position. It would really help prospective customers understand how it all fits!

Agree with others the floor liners are better than the seat back protectors. However, based on the sliding design of the R1S's 3rd row, I can't imagine there is a perfect solution.

For now I've installed them with the velcro on the back of the 2nd row. I plan to take the mat for the 3rd row seat backs in and out as needed.

One note is we use the R1S with the middle seat in row 2 always folded down so my 8yo can climb over it every day. As manufactured this product obviously doesn't work for my use case.

My solution was to take a utility knife to the larger 2nd row protector. Had to make several cutouts to account for latches, etc, but now my seats are much more protected from kids.

Thank you for sharing! It looks like you found a temporary solution by altering our product, but we're also planning to split the larger piece into two for better flexibility! We're still refining our product, so please let us know if there are other areas where we need to improve and we'll take your feedbacks into consideration. Bring them on!

The large gap you see now won't be there in the flat position.

Finally, someone who understands! Rivian has a complex design with many moving parts, which makes it tough for us to satisfy everyone. We're doing our best to offer the best solution in the market. Given the R1S's moving designs, finding a perfect solution is indeed a challenge!

Ah, then for my use case this will probably be fine. I plan to have mostly 3rd row folded, but in case i I need the row for extra passengers, I can just take out the 3rd row covers and raise the 3rd row.

This is as opposed to have a big cargo-and-3rd-row one-piece mat. It's much more difficult to get third row raised without advance planning, and might end up having to fold it in half.

Hey @LinerX - are you still pretty far behind on shipping orders? My UPS shipping tag has been printed for two weeks now and yet the floor mats have not shipped. I received the your shipment is on the way email on Sept 24 with the mentioned tracking number. The only response I’ve received from your team was shipping times of 5-7 days and a picture of boxes shipping out none of which were mine as my tracking is still pending shipment from your facility. The note it’s taking longer to fullfill is great - glad you’ve got so many orders - but 5-7 day shipping time can only occur when the shipment happens.

Y’all were great presale for support; but this lack of post sale support is getting increasingly frustrating.

Sorry for the wait! We're working hard to clear our backlog, and we understand how waiting can be frustrating. Your shipment is actually not far from being sent out. As previously mentioned, your package should reach you in 5-7 business days. We last updated you on October 5th and sincerely appreciate for your patience and understanding as we work through this!

This is what the middle seat protector looks like after a little slice and dice with the utility knife.

Note the two car seats on either side, which is why my son has to climb over the middle seat to go to and from his booster in the back. With no captain's chairs we have to work with what we've got.
