Looks like they pretty much had all good things to say.

This article almost exactly mirrors my experience over the last 18 months. 99% amazing, 1% needs improving. By far the best vehicle I've ever owned.

The only difference is my tonneau is still working like new (knock on wood), and I have way fewer miles/road-trips in the bag.

"Doc, if you've forgotten, is a Launch Edition truck with decidedly non-Launch Edition wheels, making him a bit of a factory freak and possibly a future collector's item."
What?

Maybe I can snag that tonneau before they return it.

good to see pretty much all positivity around the R1T. I am almost a mirror of them, 14 months and 26k miles. Tons of successful road trips, nearly all positive experiences.

For a start up, and this being their first effort, Rivian knocked it out of the park. It's pretty amazing how well they did with these vehicles. Really promising for the future.
I'm honest about the problems I've had with my truck when people ask me in person. I typically try to end the conversation saying "It's a first year vehicle from a new manufacturer and it has no right to be as good as it is, because it's the best vehicle I've ever owned"

Well, that was quite glowing! Nice to see. This stuck out to me:

When it came to actual service calls, time in the service center's schedule always seemed to magically appear for us, but we understand this has not been the experience for many owners.

That's a bit of a sore subject right now for many owners, but it will improve.

I just passed a year of R1T ownership, too. I've actually had some major issues, but still absolutely love the truck. So far, I still prefer it over our 2-month old R1S. I'll try to do a full write up.

I've had my R1T for over a year as well, and I'd concur with a lot in the article.

For me its been a great utility type vehicle that is in need of some refinements. The fact that its so inexpensive to run makes it something that I don't want to part ways with. It's my go anywhere for very little money vehicle.

Refinements needed:

The entire passive entry/locking system has to be revamped to vastly improve it. To this day there are still moments where I have to wait for the truck to unlock despite standing right next to it with the fob in my pocket.

The Navigation is still a complete let down. At the very least give us the ability to send corrections through the app itself.

Driver+ can be decent at times, but is far too limited in availability. Both from a mapping perspective, and also from weather like the "camera blinded" issues even when the weather isn't bad. It's certainly far better than it was, but its still far short from the "hands free" that we were originally promised.

I strongly dislike the throttle response mapping. I expect sport to be a lot more punchy, and reverse is actually dangerous in how much pedal play there is before the truck moves. Rumor has it that the throttle response was fixed, but service didn't know anything about this when I asked. So it could be an unfounded rumor.

Personally I don't like the ride quality. I actually felt it was better before the most recent update, but I believe I'm a minority with that opinion. I used to be mostly okay with Sport, but not so much now.

My vehicle still has the tok after numerous attempts to get them to eliminate it. I've excepted that it is just what it is. It's certainly a lot less pronounced then it was.

I'm not sure its correct to assume it will.

I assumed it would improve, but in my neck of the woods it seems to have gotten worse. The service department near me had no idea when another service center would open.

The service center is small and chaotically busy. Nearly every service appointment I had with them throughout the year was a 3+ month wait.

Even after the vehicle was serviced it took roughly 30min of waiting around at the service center for them to bring the vehicle around.

They were too busy delivering R1S's.

The fact is they're just going to print money with the R1S.

It's the new minivan.
