Newbie question- how do they know which tire is which? can I just give to discount tire with new tires and they work without any additional input or programming?
The truck self learns which sensor is at which corner.

The transmitting power of the sensors is so low that it can only be picked up a few inches away from the receiver coil/antenna on that axle so there's no chance of the vehicle picking up the TPMS Sensor from an adjacent wheel.

The sensors below are no longer available from Bezos. Any other confirmed options out there? Thanks.

Aware this is an old thread, but for future reference…

Search online for Huf PT00000742-D. This is the Huf part number. RDE232V26 is Rivian’s part number. Same one in Gear Shop, just without Rivian logo. It has Huf’s BH logo instead.

It is still not available through Amazon, but is available elsewhere if you search for Huf’s part number. Prices are typically $90/ea.. Occasionally $40.

I just had these installed in my winter/off-road rims and they work just fine. Once in a while takes an extra 30 seconds compared to normal to get pressures but nothing to do but put them in and rove away and they work. Just about 300 miles so far and no issues.

adding in these are the clamp in version, the company also makes a snap in one as well.

$40 at tpmsbargains

No affiliation, and I haven't used them yet as I'm waiting for a new set of winter wheels. I have one of the Amazon RDE232V26 in my spare, it works but the valve stem is short with fragile threads.

Yup. As I researched I saw a few reports of people having issues getting vehicle to recognize sensors. What I found is new sensors are typically in a dormant state to save battery and need to be activated. Some activate right away with a sort drive, others require a few seconds of airflow (deflation). And these don’t require programming as they transmit on the frequency the R1 uses, 433MHz. And it’s short range communication like NY_Rob state above. So no need to program for position. Vehicle software sorts it out based on which sensor is reporting to which receiver. tpmsbargains.com has them for $40 and there is a valid “5%off” promo code.
